Take NU and CSU. Trade WVU for MU. Don't want CU at all, total misfit with the Big 12. CSU is the respectable school in CO, let CU rot in the PAC 12. Big 12 needs to aim high. Talk of lesser schools makes me sick.

I go to NM on a rather regular basis and have been for 4 years, and just no. UNM has a decent campus and ABQ is an alright town, and NM is very pretty, but that's it. Las Cruces is basically near El Paso and "out there" all things considered. NM as a state does not have a lot of people, it has about as many as Nebraska, and a significant population of those people are rather impoverished. Also, both UNM and NMSU student populations are no where near Zona's and ASU's. It's a very stark difference.

Yeah, the more I think about it, this. We're going to piss off our TV partners by exercising a clause they didn't think would get used on Cincinatti and probably 3 others. We're going to take that TV money (say $22MM per school) and only give $10MM-ish each to the new schools for the next 5 years. The current 10 will split the rest to the tune of $4MM-ish each until the GOR is up. UT and OU make more in the short term and leave a larger conference behind for whoever doesn't get a spot.

Also, I could see Fed-Ex overpaying for CCG and B12 Tourny sponsorship and we somehow don't give any to the newbies, resulting in an extra $1MM or $2MM per current school. So, hello Memphis.

There's a big 12 contract out there, where if we add teams, our TV contract adds just enough more $ where everyone keeps their 22m per team, even split to the new members. I'm sure this could be negotiated tho. Via sports radio.

Are you saying someone on the radio said the contract is that they pay pro-rata share for new schools and the conference has to give that money to the new school?

I don't give a crap what our current contract says, we're getting less per team or next contact if we take non power conference teams. Expanding its rough ridin' dumb as curled bangs unless it's a real school.
