In the last few years, 18 games, home/home with everyone except 2 singles. These went in 2 year cycles where you kept the same 2 singles in consecutive years and swapped home games. I don't know if they had gave each school a couple protected rivalries or not. They didn't have protected rivalries in the 16 game schedules where they kept the same two year patterns, except it was 6 home/home and 4 singles.

Agreed on both counts. I'm not in favor of adding BYU at all. But if we have to add them, then the only thing I could support would be football-only. One trip to Provo for football every other year would not be a huge deal. Having to also make trips for all of the other sports?

Plus, football-only helps with the other main BYU problems... Namely their no play on Sunday policy and the fact that they're a thousand miles in the wrong direction.

No we just need to find another football-only school to join with them. Would Houston, Cincy, Memphis, Tulane, Col State join football-only?

As I continue to read this thread and ponder how small timey the Big 12 may be (that we may be courting Cinci or a football only BYU, or then again, may be incapable of deciding to add anybody of substance due to internal division), I noticed this thread is at 1123 pages. With a title "Smoke your cigars while you can . . . . " I began to ponder if I had taken that advice wholeheartedly, would I be dead from lung cancer by now.

Just wondering how much longer all these imminent events that may or may not doom KSU will be drawn out, and who will hit the grave first, the posters on this board or the conference.

Sorry about getting sidetracked. Go ahead and get back to if we turn to Tulane as a non-BYU option...or maybe Western Kentucky.

A quick answer to your question is "until the current Big 12 TV deal expires."
