Would TCU to the Big East help or hurt the possiblility of "It's Patterson 2"?

I go with help: TCU is going to start feeling there oats and find that Patterson is not getting over the glass celling of College sports. They are going to have a play make the accusation that he touched his penis or something so they can fire him with cause and hire some big name coach. Patterson will come to us, cheap.

Don't see any of the Big 12 schools being the least bit interested in the Big East at this juncture.   They're only going to be interested if the Big 12 blows up . . . and for those predicting that the Big 12 will blow up . . . I don't think that will happen.    If OU goes to the Big East, they'll pretty much wreck their Texas recruiting.  

Texas has exactly what they want in the Big 12, and as I and others have said . . . they do not like the SEC, and they aren't interested in the Pac-10.

OU and OSU have no reason to go to a Big East. ku would like this for the basketball conference, but they too now know basketball means eff all in conference realignment. TCU probably wouldn't want to leave if they plan on having a respectable football program for years to come.

When we were 12, iirc, the rule was that it took 8 votes to dissolve.  Don't know what the new rules are, but it seems like 4 would be too few to make that vote happen.

So the Big East went from on the chopping block in the first go round to a major player and making aggressive bids in the aftermath?  This doesn't really pass the smell test at all, considering everyone thought that when the SEC raided the ACC for teams the ACC in turn would raid the Big East.

I'm sure this rumor has already produced multiple banners for the folks in larry though.

yeah like you said unless the big 12 blows up there is no reason for those teams to jump ship.

OU is tied to the hip of texas. texas isnt really interested in joining any other conference. if they were to leave the big 12 they would likely go independent which then oklahoma would start to look for a home but wouldnt take them long. after byu got the big payout from espn it made texas wonder what they could get. but the texas schools are a tangled mess not sure texas could ever break away from the bunch.

It would be incredibly savvy to go aggressive and see what you can shake loose?  If they landed the Oklahoma schools it would solidify their conference and or stop the bleeding in the future if they did get raided.  Wish Beebe would have been smart enough to do this before we almost got crapped on.  If they try, what do they lose?
