There's no doubt Ketchum was talking to a Texas Board of Regent and that is exactly the response you're going to get from someone in that group.
As cRusty said, these mentalities love to make deals, when we all know none of these deals have really worked out for any of the deal making schools relative to on field/on court success.
They'll tell themselves over and over that the additional money will "make them more competitive" when to date, the additional money at Cornhole, MethU and CultAggie hasn't amounted to jackshit in terms of the trophy case. 5 years from now CultAggie will still be talking about Natty's and won't have won an SEC Championship, let alone a Natty. At Cornhole, there always gonna be a new coach away from mid-90's glory, that's never-ever going to return. MethU simply hollers 'Present' at the SEC meetings and has a weirdo coach who talks a big game and will likely leave MethU on bad terms in the next 5 years, like he's prone to do.
5 years in OU and Texas fans will be bitching about their lack of success. I suppose in their mind the SEC is gonna roll 5 teams into the CFBPO every year, and if that's happening college football on a national scale is D E A D
