None of this is being done on account of a principle of justice or to restore some natural order or some crap like that. It's being done to hoard money. It's not going to make your experience any more enjoyable.

If a by-product of them trying to make more money is no more absolutely crap non-con schedules like this year, then yes, it will make my experience more enjoyable.

a split with KSU staying with the top programs in the sport could give us long term security. I would say that will make my fan experience more enjoyable.

Who cares if they hoard money? AD's hoard money to build things to attract students, universitys hoard money from students. People need to understand sports are about entertainment and money, not education. Even education is all about the money.

That being said, it will definitely make the experience more enjoyable. Why were people up in arms against expansion of the NCAA tournament? Why not just increase it into the 100's to give people a chance to play.

Reducing numbers increases the product.

Rumor on a UConn board is that they may try to go independent if D4 happens. One very preliminary theory I've heard floated around is that if there are 80ish D4 schools and a rule that schools can only play down once a year, then you may see a run of schools go independent. The theory is they may be better off with the scheduling flexibility of independence. They would be able to play 6-8 games per year against the P5 getting payoffs or 2-for-1s. In theory, they could form a collective will all the benefits of being in a conference like selling their home game TV inventory together and signing contracts with bowls, but they wouldn't actually be a conference. More money in getting payments to play 4-6 games on the road and having 1-2 P5 foes coming in thru 2-for-1s than playing 7-8 games among themselves in the AAC or MW.

It actually seems like a more humble idea than the whole "break away from the NCAA" stuff people have consistently thrown around for the past few years.

The FACT that we have conference commissioners coming out so critical of the NCAA lately says that "something" is happening.

NU was a great school for the conference to hate. I would accept them back without hesitation. Probably also A&M. Can't bring myself to give much a crap about Mizzou or Colorado.

This quote made me chuckle, when Larry Scott is poopooing the idea of small schools getting big pay days for road games.
