Yes.  SEC will say “either you (ku) comes w/out ksu or we go get UL”.  Because UL would be an entirely better option than KSU.  Entirely.  I’m not even convinced that the sec will go to 16 with the options available.  Who cares if the pac goes to 16 or the ACC goes to 16? Like the SEC is going to be like “wow, we can’t compete, we’re no longer the best football conference w/out KU and KSU”.  GMAFB.   And I don’t care about the scheduling issues that a 14 team league will have, but it is not a deal breaker,  it’s not mission impossible.  When the SEC offers a life raft for just one person, you don’t choose to drown.

We are a better option than Louisville.  Yes, they have the new arena, yes they have an expanded football stadium, but they are still a 'city' school.  The SEC does not have city schools.  They are state schools plus the academic private school to up the rankings.

Academically, we're better.  We're tied to a much more attractive school.  Kentucky is already in the SEC and will tell everyone to keep them the eff out.

A 16 team SEC model only make sense if they're going to make more money by adding teams 15 and 16. I don't think Louisville adds enough value when it comes to tv sets w/ the SEC already having Lexington, Nashville and Knoxville. Expanding west makes much more sense.

Adding A&M, MU, KU, & KSU gets you a lot more tvs than Louisville and WVU

Some quoted a SEC AD or something that the SEC will only consider schools that expand there reach into new territories. K-State, KU and Missouri do that Louisville does not . I would think they would look at Cincinnati more than Louisville for that very reason.

Guys -- you can dream all you want. We're not going to the PAC, big 10, ACC or SEC. Hold out hope as long as you want, but it's not going to happen.   We either make the best of what we can w/ the rest of the Big East, or go join the MWC. Stinks, but that's where we're at. Best we can hope for is that we can become the 5th power conference (lowest rung on the big boy ladder).

As a side note, if Currie doesn't stop talking about being "committed to the BigXII" very very soon, I'm going to become even more   .

They've already said they don't believe they can expand past that either without building an entirely new stadium.

Only thing keeping Vandy in the SEC is that it is a private school (has mega $$$$) and is a founding member of the conference. Tradition is sacred in the SEC, which is why I don't see the chances of them expanding past 14 teams to be very good.
