So stupid. My goodness.

why stupid?

I think the logic says you run Lunch.

But I get Pete's explanation too. They came out with 1 back and 3 wide and the Patriots stayed with their goalline defensive personnel. You have man coverage, so the pick made sense. New England's rookie corner made a heck of a play.

Still, I probably give the ball to one of the best short yardage backs in the game.

meh. it was a good play call, good design, it just didn't work. you are working on hindsight.

Is Lynch the best offensive player in the history of that franchise?  Largent and Craig were good, but Lynch might be the best they have ever had.

Let me ask you this, what is the realistic worst case scenario if you run Lynch there?

Yes, this is true. It was a great play by the corner.

However, the read was pretty easy once he recognized the pick. When a pro corner sees tight receivers by the goalline, the read is pretty easy, it's just a matter of jumping the route and making the play. The guy did.

bottom line is it was a good play call and if executed better, it scores. granted, i'm sure all seattle fans wish carroll would have called the play that worked. that much i'm sure of.

That Jeff bridges commercial was bitb. Also the Doritos one on the airplane was very close to real life on board a southwest plane

Worst case scenario is Lynch fumbles the football.

Yeah and a less worst case is one run that runs a bunch more clock than intended and doesn't score, leaving them to use their final TO to set up final play.

fake the lead to lynch and naked boot wilson with a safety valve was probably the best call option

I fell asleep with like six minutes left. Just woke up and am trying to catch some highlights now, you guys. I need to clean up a bit in the kitchen before I go to bed, too.

Man, it was really exciting.  You watched a bunch of boring parts and fell asleep for the best part, that's really unlucky.

Butler jumped that thing so fast. It's pretty clear based on the formation NE had a good idea what was coming. Granted, NE had the LOS stacked, so a run from that formation would've been tough too.

It was a great Super Bowl though. Very fun to watch.

Very tough run in that situation.  Only a few teams in the league have a guy who could do it.

Yeah. I think I can remember 1 run where Lynch didn't get positive yards all night.

Idk, if they played ten times it would probably be 5-5
