no bud. it doesn't. there has never been a serious injury in the history of the game of soccer, ever. there are however about 3500 fake injuries that resolve themselves of their own volition (about 20 seconds on the sideline fyi) every damn game.

guys, i guess i don't understand why there are different free agency periods all the time. how can half the team be "out on loan" or whatevs also?

I do not like soccer, plain and simple. I think my dislike comes from several things, most of which have already been brought up in this thread.

Number 1 overall is faking injuries, and continuing to fake them until you know your fake injury won't get a penalty then you wipe your fake tears away and act like nothing happened until the next fake injury, which occurs the next time the ball gets within 50 yards of you.

By far the worst part about soccer is that all the best players don't play in one league.  Like, the Barclays is supposed to be the best and yet the two best players in the world play in Spain?  I mean wtf.

at least 95 percent of the sporting fans i know are hipster dorks who were always too good for sports. they acted as if they were above caring about the royals and the chiefs. now, they wear 13 scarves to the cauldron and sing folk songs and act as if sporting, mls and soccer are on the same level/superior to football and baseball and the chiefs and the royals. \

yeah, the royals and chiefs are frustratingly stupid and awful and crap. but guess what, on their worst day, they are the 30th ranked team in the world in their respective sport. sporting is ranked anywhere from 250 to 430 in any world soccer club ranking that you'll find. the defending mls champ isn't even one of the 200 best clubs in the world. mls is equivalent to AAA baseball. maybe AA.

sporting is very good. their ownership is the best in the city and i wish they would buy the royals and turn that crapshow around. but mls is simply not on par with the nfl or mlb. the chiefs and royals are the best show in town because they are truly world class (even though it's hard to believe most of the time).

i also do not like soccer nearly as much as football, baseball and basketball. i much prefer watching hockey, horse racing and golf and tennis truth be told (except the world cup, it's badass). i hate that taking dives and faking injuries and otherwise acting like philip rivers on his worst day 24/7 is embedded in the culture of soccer. i hate that a tie happens about as often as a victory. i hate that there are like 8 shots on goal in an entire game, and that's a generous number. hockey is the equivalent of soccer on ice, but it is so much more fast paced and action packed. though the amount of goals scored is similar, the shots on goal are significantly higher because the playing surface is so much smaller. i also like that hockey players aren't pussies and don't take dives. i think the loan our best players out like we are a farm system routine is so effing stupid.

i enjoy the world cup because that is the one time when i know all of the best players in the world are competing against each other (landon donovan  )

Speaking strictly of the sport itself and not re the level of competition in town, baseball fans can gtfoomf with this.

Baseball is kept alive in our country by meaningless nostalgia and stat dorks. It is boring as crap,  moves half as fast as it should, and has twice as many games as it should.  Real talk: women's softball is more entertaining than MLB.
