Nicname how much money have you lost playing poker over the years?

I'm a net winner. Obv. can't confirm that other than this current run. Even then you'd have to take my word for it. I am a slight net loser online with most of that coming post black friday.

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

It's easy to at least break even at live poker if you have a clue.

Yes. It's not hard. Still, most people are losers in the long run. I would say 5-10 percent of all live players are actually beating live cash games by even 5 BB/hour in the long haul.

I don't like playing cash games at the casino because I buy in for like $250 and everyone else bought in for like $600 and they just bully you around. Tournaments are fun though.

if you have 250 and everyone has 600, effectively to you, everyone has 250. while they're playing a strategy for big stacks, if you play a game for short stacks, that has a built in advantage.

so you can take advantage and bully back. if it goes raise call call etc preflop, you could just go all in with 99+, AQ or AK (all depends on their position though), and either pick up all the dead money or flip for 250. or if people just call preflop, or it folds to you, make a raise with broadways and try to hit top pair.

So I get In late last night from work and Ms wacky was already in bed. So I went to Harrah's and won $500 last night at the poker tables. That totals $3212 in winnings in the last 3 months, all for the honeymoon fund. However, instead of being happy about it, Ms wacky thinks I have a problem. Can you have a problem when you're on top, only go every other week, and only take $100 in? :dunno: I'm asking for a friend. TIA.

You can absolutely have a problem while still winning.

As far as you having a gambling problem, maybe but probably not. A good test is do you want to do "x" or do you need to do "x"? If you can be honest with yourself, that's when you need to take action

I can agree with that, also if you do online horse race betting where the races happen around the world you probably have a problem

I definitely don't do that. I'm a numbers guy and feel like I can control the poker table. I never go out like I use to. What's risking $60 on a random Saturday night? Especially when I'm winning. It's a entertainment expense to me.

I was giving a poster who started a thread like that a hard time.  I like gambling a lot, just never do it, mainly because it's 70 miles to the nearest casino

If you do have a gambling problem, there probably isn't anyone in a better position to diagnose it than Ms. Wacky.

Jk. That's pretty sick. How many hours?

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

So you've played roughly 39-40 hours total over the last three months?
