I'm catching up on Homeland while Showtime is doing the Freeview weekend thing. I saw the first episode(s) of the Colin Hanks Dexter season (HS reunion I think) and don't know if it is worth catching up on that as well. Heard its gone downhill and is even worse than Julia Stiles season, which is where my interest was waning.

Season 7 is the only season comparable to season 4, for what it's worth.

I would rank them:

1. Tie between Season 1 & 2
3. Season 7
4. Season 4
5. Season 6
6. Season 3
7. Season 5

I think season 4 is considered hands down the best season by critics and most viewers. The only downside is that besides John Lithgow, there's not a lot going on. That storyline is obviously an incredible one, and probably the best in the series, but the side stories of everyone else in the department are pretty terrible. Season 7 has all good side stories, too. I put them on three different tiers like so:

4, 7
1, 2, 6 (I liked 6, even though it got pretty cheesy at times)
3, 5

season 1 is significantly better than the others. go rewatch it, it's amazing how far downhill the show fell after season 1.

Watched the first two episodes last night. Maybe it was because I was binged, but I liked it. Will probably watch a couple more tonight.

Homeland season 2 was largely fun. Had about 4 different things that could've been big "season-enders." If they keep up this pace, they'll lose me. I'm hoping Galvez is running this crap before long.
