That was a sweet, gut wrenching episode. I still have the SS McCallister left. Saving it for the weekend to watch with stimulants. I’ll probably watch both back to back.

It's so tough for me to watch him and think it's anyone besides Giamatti. I wish I could ask someone who saw that episode, but has seen him in nothing else, what they thought.

How much blood and gore is in The Pitt? I started it yesterday and stopped about 30 minutes in, when the two people came in from the train accident.
a lot
Yeah if you’re squeamish or watching with someone who is then you probably won’t have a great time.

The show has so much hype. Is it good enough where I can turn my head, roughly a dozen times an episode but will still like the show?
It’s a great show, but if you have trouble watching that kind of stuff then it’s not a great show for YOU. Its real charm is making you feel like you’re watching an actual ER instead of an ER drama.

Thought THE PITT jumped the shark about midway through the season.  Like, there are 12 characters are on the show and most of them had life altering moments during this 12 hour shift.  It’s like you’re in a real ER!

I thought the messaging was a little heavy handed too.

“Well violence against medical staff is on the rise throughout the country.”  OK.  Thought the actors might as well have just looked directly at the camera for the little fun-facts that lace the dialogue.

These are all fair critiques, but didn’t do much to diminish my interest in it.

Out of place PSAs can be great if done right: Saved By The Bell style.

The Pitt isn't much step up from Network Prime time TV.

Knocked out one of the latest episodes of Black Mirror. We just did the shortest one since that's all we had time for tonight.

I thought it was weird that season 6 had a couple non-futuristic/technology based episodes. Isn't that the whole point of the show? But it sounds like season 7 is back on track. I can confirm at least 1 of the 5 is futuristic/technology based!

Epi 1 was infuriating.

It's haunted me. It's the perfect Black Mirror episode. Meaning, it's something that could be a very real situation in the not too distant future, and it's dark af.

Also, when did we get rid of the spoiler font?

It was peak Black Mirror.  I just don’t have the same capacity for some of that like I used to.

Yeah.  Watched it with Mrs. Dlew and we were both like.  OK.  Well that was unenjoyable.

It is. They are shooting right now. It's been rumored that Ted is going to leave Richmond to coach a women's team run by Keely and Roy will take over Richmond. I feel like season 4 won't have much Ted at all, given Sudekis was pretty vocal about being done after season 3.

The payoff for that shitty first gemstones episode of the season was not even close to being worth punting a whole episode to set it up.

I have since read this article about season 4 of gemstones and it makes sense why the finale felt so rushed, kinda sad actually
https://variety.com/2025/tv/news/righteous-gemstones-ending-danny-mcbride-finale-1236385166/
Quote
“Church lunch scenes are always my favorite scenes to shoot,” says Danny McBride, the creator, star, and executive producer of the four-season comedy. (McBride also directed the finale, sharing script credit with longtime collaborators John Carcieri and Jeff Fradley.) “We usually have a whole day to do it, and it’s everyone from the cast there and everyone has fun.” But that day last fall, McBride wasn’t in the mood to stop and smell the roses. He was just trying to make it through a grueling production that had already sustained such calamities as the devastation of Hurricane Helene on the “Gemstones” home base of South Carolina. Even that day, Baltz learned his mother had been in a car accident and wasn’t sure whether he could complete the scene.

I pulled that out because the article is long and frankly not something that someone who enjoyed the Righteous Gemstones should be subjected to read. The article is was too arthouse'y and hoity toity for a show that was 4 seasons of dick jokes.

Anyway, the season 3 finale was rough ridin' awesome and would have made for a good series finale.

Agree.

I thought it was ok, didn't like Baby Billy's Teenjus ending though.

Sounds like it will continue to follow the trajectory of the show as getting worse each season.
