Started The Boys last week, not something I'd normally watch but the viral homelander memes got me. Just finished season two last night. I really liked season one, season two a little less. Shows that the premise is essentially, how will they/he/she get out of trouble this time, is a lot like eating donuts, there are diminishing returns for me. I'll catch up with the four seasons by the end of the month, not sure I'll go much further if the formula of the show continues to be what it is.

Sidenote apparently there's some minor controversy about Erin Moriarty being image shamed, which is wild, she's absolutely gorgeous. What could there possibly be to image shame her about?

I was okay giving up on it after season 2, but like you, I restarted because of all the Homelander memes (and because of all the time I had on my hands sitting around the house since having a baby). Season 3 is my favorite because of the religious/political allegories. Season 4 has been a little too over the top for me like season 2 was. But season 5 is the final season, so I'll be back for that.

During my watch of season 3 I was recommending it to a few people, but after season 4 I'm not sure I will be anymore.

After episode 3 of season 3 I can definitely see Erin Moriarity's plastic surgery. The lower half of her face seems significantly slimmer, which is a shame, for sure, but it absolutely doesn't merit Megyn Kelly, of all people, giving her crap for it.

It was mentioned on Twitter that on GoT they regularly used the finale as a preview for the upcoming season so this is in line with that. I had read that the producers said there were two big fight scenes this season and I can only recall one so I was expecting something in the finale which never came.

If you watch the director recap at the very end of the episode, they basically said this season finale was a trailer for next season.  Which sucks because next season is almost 2 years away.

The new dragon rider characters are not all great. They one that they showed for like 2 seconds in a bar before being tested is as cheap and awful of a character as you could ask for on your standard CW show.

It's fine.  It isn't great.  It may get better, as it still has potential, but trending in the wrong direction, imo.

I think it will still be enjoyable since you won't have to wait a week between episodes. Waiting a week just to have an epi full of filler was taxing.
