Is it a slow burn? Trailer makes it seem that way.

Rewatch of The Killing. Season 1 still holds up. 5/7
Yeah that was so great

Even season 3 of The Killing was like 6/7 if you take out the last 5 minutes. But man, season 1 was the epitome of ending every episode on a cliff hanger so good that you had to start the next episode immediately.

In trying to figure that out, I realized I made a mistake. Season 4 was the one I think was a 6/7 minus the last 5 minutes. But Netflix funded and produced that, so if it's anywhere it'd be there. But it doesn't look like any of the show is anywhere for free right now.

Hulu. When I first looked, it said I needed Max but it's running without it.

Probably my favorite comedy/drama  series in the last 10 years.

It is so freaking good and landed the ending perfectly

'Masters of the Air' was incredibly good. I loved it. I might watch it again soon, which is something I rarely do.

Any other 'Masters of the Air'-heads out there?
I really liked the book.
What streaming service is it on?

Yes, Apple.

Have you read Unbroken? Also a WWII book about bomber pilots becoming POWs, only this takes place in the Pacific. I actually read it as I was watching Masters of the Air and kept confusing the two in my mind.

_Unbroken_ is an incredibly good book. Better than _Masters of the Air_. I'm going to have to stream masters of the air this week.

masters of the air tried to be like the air force version of band of brothers but came out like Pearl Harbor did to Saving Private Ryan.

Hallmark version of Band of Brothers?

The air sequences are intense, but the base/camp scenes are corny

This seems like a really strange comparison. I'll readily admit that Masters of the Air is no Band of Brothers but I don't agree with/understand your statement.

comparing anything to Pearl Harbor is harsh and i was being hyperbolic.   i just felt like Band of Brothers was able to make a series about war where not every character was likeable or heroic. Masters of the Air was a bit more fluffy.

Speaking of WWII, We Were The Lucky Ones on Hulu has been a great watch through 4 eps.  It is also very jarring and intense.

Got about 2/3 of the way through the first ep and the Pearl Harbor comparo doesn’t seem unreasonable. I think there is a character named Buck or Bucky but I can’t remember any others and I don’t care about what happens to them next. I think that is what made BoB so gripping was how invested I became in the characters. After the first 1 1/2 episodes, I was willing to walk barefoot over hot lava under machine gun fire if Winters told me to do so.

Do MAGAs watch The Boys and, if so, do they realize they're being mocked?

They do/did and were/are not happy about it

Was just coming here to post about The Boys. I thought the first 2 seasons left more to be desired, and had given up on it until last week. Season 3 is really great, now that it's clearly social commentary. I'd be down to have less of the Russian dude and homegirl's storyline.

I feel like past Spracs did a solid to future Spracs and never watched The Sopranos until now. A gift to the future.

Do you guys ever do favors for your future selves? I'm not talking monetarily or materialistically.

i probably watched The Walking Dead for 3 seasons after it had gotten really stupid because of Jeffrey Dean Morgan, so i’m probably locked into The Boys for at least another 3 seasons now.
