Can't you picture oscar sliding down the slide at a brewers game then running in from the outfield to throw the first pitch on opening day?! I'm getting misty thinking about it

"In some ways, it was the life chosen for him.

“It goes back as long as I can remember, seems like,” he says.

Even now, oscar Weber gets letters from strangers. They are men and women from Milwaukee, Weber’s hometown, and they tend to write in when he really gets going at a referee. His arms come out of that fold, he slides toward the official, and soon enough his cheeks go red. That raspy voice is picked up on TV."

 it's unfortunate for us that this bond is so strong

i mean the more you read it just seems like this thing may just be destiny

Second-order Marquette effects:
http://www.volnation.com/forum/tennessee-vols-basketball/216479-if-martin-leaves-14.html

(in all seriousness, UT is a lateral move at the very best, and that is assuming a huge salary bump.)

I was wondering if we'd give Cuonzo a look should Marquette pull this off.

Marquette is the perfect fit for oscar.

And vice versa.   Wiscontonians deserve his folksy "awe shucks"  demeanor and he deserves their undying love of things made almost entirely of curds.

Martin played at Purdue for Gene Keady and is part of Keady's coaching tree, which includes Purdue's Matt Painter, Vanderbilt's Kevin Stallings, St. John's Steve Lavin and Kansas State's oscar Weber.

Weber, a Milwaukee native and UWM graduate with Final Four experience at Illinois, also has been mentioned for the Marquette job.

I mean, if Marquette doesn't take him, and Bo Ryan doesn't have a massive heart attack and die, we are going to be stuck with oscar for the next decade.  :frown:

How long does Currie allow Weber to use us as a fallback option?

Everything that twit paul m banks has written has been crap, and it is clear he is talking out of his ass.  To now argue that K-State fans have embraced a Weber move to Marquette is complete and utter bullshit, and beyond just lazy and sloppy reporting.  That a couple dolts on goEMAW, which has the collective maturity of a second grader, have never embraced Weber because they think he isn't cool enough for them means nothing.  They sure don't speak for our fanbase, and for banks to write as if they do makes him an crap-stirring idiot.

I admit I took him at face value when his original article was linked, but I was wrong.  The other posters in that thread were correct...he is creating this entire drama.  I would be absolutely shocked if he actually has a legit source that KNOWS oscar expressed interest.  Shocked.  Someone needs to fit this guy for an atomic wedgie.
