if you launch a torpedo at an enemy boat and a dolphin or orca or something swims in the way will it just blow the eff out of it or will it bounce off and not detonate?
Bounce. Metal detection thing.

wouldn't it just blast right through flesh and continue to it's target?

A torpedo isn't going to travel at a high enough rate to "blast right through" anything. There are multiple ways to detonate them, though. (No, I can't tell you what they are)

magnetic, sonar, remote, psychic

Yes to two(possibly three) of those.  :Keke:

things i would say a lot in matthew mccconaughey voice:

"chief, take us down to two hundred meters"

"chief, make us as silent as a hole in the water"

"chief, i need you to refuckulate the port screw valve on the crank carbonator bearing clamps, or we're going to be fish food before you take your next stogie break in the torpedo john"

We use feet, not meters.

Boomers do pretty much exactly that.

I... I don't even know what to say here...

Dink-ass NUBs don't burn flicks. Get qualified, NUB.

Did I just get PI'd with submarine lingo?

I never went on a fast attack. I would have hated sleeping in the Torpedo Room. People always coming in and out. At least on the SSBN, we slept between the missile tubes in actual birthing.

Here are couple of pictures that give you an idea of the amount of "personal" space you got underway...

It was like sleeping in a coffin but once the curtain was closed, you better not open it. Many a NUB has been PI'd for opening someone's curtain.

Ya, man. That was a nice little prank.

My fav was to dress in radcon gear, pour a glow stick on ya, and enter bunkroom 1 (nub bunks) with gieger counter. Those NUBs would crap their pants.

Not sure if classified or not but have either of you sub studs been to shuiba(sp?) port in Kuwait? I just returned from there and every once in a while we would see a periscope sticking out of the water. Made me very jealous.

Also sea related the us sank it's own battle ship to create said port for the Kuwaitis
