Negroni.

you either love it or hate it.

i could drink these all day.
Unfortunately, there are only two bars in Aggieville that even carry Campari and neither has bartenders that know what one is.

See you in the Grievance Thread, bad person.

the names move, signature move

i haven't lurked here long enough, i guess. i have no idea what this means. (also, what happened to ned ryerson?? which reminds me-- rye whisky (yeah, lame segue), also very good though not listed. (as in templeton, not what they call canadian whisky, blech.)

very curious to see what fellow illini bread drinks, as i saw him write off beer in another thread (stupid move, by the by, but whatever.)

i would try a negroni.  i have no idea what campari tastes like tho

its an aromatic bitters. most people will add more of the sweet vermouth to balance out the gin and campari. but that is wrong.

negronis will throw you on your ass, a true cocktail.

my runner-up would be a manhattan, chilled but not overly cold (absolutely no ice). bourbon is good.

just extraordinarily low alcohol iq here. just rough ridin' terrible.

gin and tonics? what are you, a bunch of frustrated hausfraus? 'cause you're drinking the drink of functionally (hopefully) alcoholic moms.

bourbon redneck-y? from "serious drinker" rd? you know what you sound like when you say that? yes, you're right. a redneck.

thinking whisky = bourbon (always)? from someone i gather is a bartender? jesus h.

anyways, since you asked, i would have to go with vodka, as in martinis (dry and dirty, please).

ps  i used to think 'clams was hilarious, but he seems to have morphed into a pissy (oh, i get it) old grump. (i assume he's a g & t guy.)

who said i was a serious drinker you weirdo? also dirty vodka martinis are what my wife drinks, but olives are just so horrible i gag if i ever try a sip. grossville, mikey.

Possibly my favorite drink of all time, the Old Fashioned, wouldn't be possible without bourbon.

you did. rough ridin' hell.

Vodka and sodas if I'm going to be drinking for a while. It helps you stay hydrated at the same time, so you can dance without having to run to the drinking fountain after every song.

I do love scotch, but I drink scotch on the rocks at the same pace I drink beer, so if I'm planning on being conscious throughout the reception I'd better steer clear.

while on the subject of soda water, let's stay on the subject ok? cause i like soda and i like water but soda water? really gross, you guys. one, tonic water just tastes better and two at least tonic water is up front about what it tastes like alone and without good tasting stuff mixed in with it. soda water is too bate and switchy for this serious drinker.

also lol at our guy signature move for acting like some hardcore drinker type knowledgeable person and then saying he/she orders a martini but then asks for it to be made with vodka and to be dirty. umm guess what? that's not even a martini dork. looks like the signature move is foot in mouth.
