If we are averaging 60 points per game, I would turn to the guy next to me and say "Sure, we are getting tons of points, but our defense would be a whole lot better with Daniel in the game eating clock. We aren't going to beat the good teams on the schedule if we can't get stops."

The problem wasn't quick scores, it was our inability to move the ball once OU took away the deep ball.We didn't even really try to run the ball (22 attempts) and the running game we did have (1.1 YPC) was pathetic. Of course if we don't find a little more balance in the offense we will be in big trouble.Should we expect to find more balance in the offense next year? Should we expect an improved running game?

That said, if we can score consistently - we'll be tough to beat. How can people on here build in assumptions that daniel was going to improve significantly while ignoring the fact that Jake looked like a much better player and a more confident guy as last season went on? I mean, is it that hard to understand that his comfort level and confidence will help greatly?
We played dogshit teams at the end of the year too
Waters is actually a pretty good zone read guy. I can do without power leads and speed option though.
I guess I'm happy for TLBL
I agree. He can make decisions but he's not built to do that slow-to-develop power run.

What about the rest of our receiving core? I'm pretty dang excited to see them in action. They also must be pretty talented if they were holding our boy Daniel down the depth chart. Davis, Klein, and Jones are going to be BOSS!
Don't we have two Sextons now too?
Kyle Klein to QB.

I wonder why the coaches didn't let Sams throw the ball more in the games last year.
