If we are averaging 60 points per game, I would turn to the guy next to me and say "Sure, we are getting tons of points, but our defense would be a whole lot better with Daniel in the game eating clock. We aren't going to beat the good teams on the schedule if we can't get stops." :frown:

 :frown:

Just win, baby. I think we'll need a more traditional run game to find offensive balance. That said, if we can score consistently - we'll be tough to beat. How can people on here build in assumptions that daniel was going to improve significantly while ignoring the fact that Jake looked like a much better player and a more confident guy as last season went on? I mean, is it that hard to understand that his comfort level and confidence will help greatly?

his stats are accurate. The problem wasn't quick scores, it was our inability to move the ball once OU took away the deep ball.

We didn't even really try to run the ball (22 attempts) and the running game we did have (1.1 YPC) was pathetic. Of course if we don't find a little more balance in the offense we will be in big trouble.

Should we expect to find more balance in the offense next year? Should we expect an improved running game?

No if anything I expect it to get worse.

Waters is actually a pretty good zone read guy. I can do without power leads and speed option though.

I'm saying that, regardless of the opponents, it's not unreasonable to suggest that having some legitimate major D1 experience has broken him in. He's a stud. Why are you so thick-headed?

I agree. He can make decisions but he's not built to do that slow-to-develop power run.

I felt the same way about Josh and Jordy when Ron Prince was here.

But we've got to run some power to set up the run action seam route.

What about the rest of our receiving core? I'm pretty dang excited to see them in action.  They also must be pretty talented if they were holding our boy Daniel down the depth chart. Davis, Klein, and Jones are going to be BOSS!

Maybe!  Gonna be tough having a guy who can't throw 5 yard routes though!

Even the biggest fans of Waters must have concerns about short yardage plays with this team now

I'm sad but what Pete said about us now being one sexy beech for a stud Juco QB transfer makes me feel all collar popping again.

Who are the hugest studs out there?  Also, we could take a D-I transfer stud and he could sit and just grab the ship next season.  Mystran style

I wonder why the coaches didn't let Sams throw the ball more in the games last year.

Partially.  It's like. How could they even know if he was a good passer if he never got to throw the ball?

I DON'T GET IT!

Are our coaches psychics?
