In other news, Topeka is getting a 4th Walmart at 25th and California, and the neighborhood residents are super pumped about it.
That's not necessarily true about Topekans being excited. Most of the immediate residents were going with lists of concessions to get it built. Wal Mart obviously gave them everything.
My mother in law was complaining about how it would increase traffic as she lives down the road. I told her that it's a huge positive because the police will actually give a crap now, and she won't be running from the sound of gunshots when walking her dog (true story).
I lived a hundred yards from a Wal Mart in Lee's Summit a few years back. It was great. Incredibly handy since it was open 24/7.
