Went to the Improv tonite to see Ralphie May, and the fat rough rider did NOT disappoint... Have seen a number of other comedians that seem to just recycle the same tired material.

Truly talented, he actually ad-libbed about 90% of the show and spent almost half of it rough ridin' with people in the first several rows of tables.

I saw Ron White at the Midtown in KC several years ago.  He was drunk for the entire show.

It was good.

I absolutely LOVE open mic standup. Watching people bomb is just... So real or something. It's just great. Plus if you find a good one a lot of them will be good, too.

I've always wanted to try open mic night somewhere, however my fear of completely bombing/failing has always been too great...

I feel like I'm hilarious.  Like, just ridiculously hilarious, but not in a stand up comedy sort of way, ya know?

My former radical libtard roommate thinks he's a comedian. He went to second city and bombed. He tells Jurassic park jokes and death jokes. It's a must see.

that sounds great if he bombs or not. Hopefully he does a lot of open mics in Louisiana and gets really good! Like anything, it takes practice.

Yeah. Initial filly back in the day use to heckle him back in the day. He did a lot of improv at K-State, but recycled a lot of his jokes. So I guess it really wasn't improv.

I will now make up a joke completely on the spot:

So I was at the mall the other day shopping for a gift for my wife. I pop my head into Victoria's Secret and ask a gal on the floor "hey I'm looking for something to hold my wife's luscious melons." "Luscious melons?" she says, "I think you need to go down to the smoothie shop."

What does everyone think of that joke?

I saw a guy three times in a row(he opened for three different headliners that I actually paid to see) and his stuff was the exact same each time and his big build up joke at the end had a punch line of: "Yo quero Taco Bell, Motherfuckers!"

Also, I saw Kevin Nealon(SP) and he was absolutely fantastic.  His entire show is off the top of his head.  He did a bit where "we are going to start a story" and he would say something like "so you and I got in my car so we could go to the store and you suddenly stopped the car and  you said....." and someone would blurt something out of the audience and he would run with it for another two or three sentences until something else was blurted out.  He did that for like 15-20 min and it was amazing how on he was.  Was very impressed.

Second fave was Damon Wayans(SP).  He was incredible.  Refused to do any of this In Living Color stuff, but was fantastic.

Both were at the old Sanfords in westport.  Small environment.  was great.

Also, saw Tracy Morgan there, sat in the front row and he kept joking about us and then started in on my wife and how women need to be more open to certain sex things.  Wife was super  :horrorsurprise:   but everyone else was

I saw Hedberg.  All time fave.  He was super wired and talked a million miles an hour, but seemed like such a cool, happy dude that everyone wants to be friends with.

saw sinbad in st louis back in '96, dude ripped that stage apart.  2nd best was yakov smirnoff - he's a russian dude who came over here a while ago, his delivery was incredible and his jokes are always one level above your head.  i consider him more of a thinking man's comedian.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

I saw him, too. It was the hardest I've ever laughed.
