The discussion was KU's 11 commits as of 12/16/2013.  So, if we you want to compare to big brother's recruiting, 12/16 would be a more appropriate cutoff, no?

No.  KU has 12 commitments, by the way (13 if you count Andre Maloney - RIP).  It won't be a big class (probably 20-21 at most).  Quit being idiots.

Gotcha, 11 listed on Rivals.  And sorry for being an idiot.  You've convinved me that Charlie's recruiting is actually not concerning.

And without ever having to prepare for bowl games, your staff should really be able to tear up the recruiting trail in December.

When you're a fan of the worst major college football program in the country, you're pretty much left with nothing but feel good talking points.

Honoring the Andre Maloney offer would be yet another.

Only five players in K-State's 2009 recruiting class signed before December:

Lots of circle jerking, strawmen arguments, and general dumbassery on this board these days.  Who let the mental midgets out of their cage?

Thank you for yet another relevant, ground-breaking piece of info.

"5 years ago when K-State fired their coach with 3 weeks left in the season, they got a late jump in recruiting"

KU isn't the worst college football program in the country.

Probably not.  But, in terms of wins/losses, certainly the worst football program in any of the Big-5 Conferences.  Second worst program (behind Baylor) in the history of BigXII.

Maybe behind Baylor in overall W-L, but with Baylor getting a title it really isn't even close

I'm just going off the lowest point.  At its worst, doormat BU had a 25 game conference losing streak.  Doormat KU had a 24 game losing streak.  Nobody else is even close.

Look, if you guys want to stick with dumbass, tuck-endorsed talking points that have no basis in reality, be my guest, but KU's current recruiting strategy is the same strategy that Mangino had when he was at KU, and it's the same strategy that Snyder and K-State have typically utilized over the years.  The 2004 recruiting class is arguably KU's best recruiting class of all-time, and it had 13 commitments at this point (KU currently has 12).

Yes, the record is quite clear that you think Ku is doing a great job recruiting this year, and that you think certain unspecified "tuck talking points" are not based in reality.

Its these two general positions that has everyone laughing at you.

If that is KU's current philosophy, then it is a problem.  Snyder has even altered that approach (you cite him, but apparently don't know his position on the issue - surprising, eh?) and noted so in interviews a few years back.  He realizes he cannot wait until December to start offering kids and expecting a decision on their parts.  He now realizes that the competition in recruiting is so high offers must be out early, and you must have a good core of recruits in hand far earlier in the process, otherwise you are left with scraps and will be competing with a lot of programs for the few remaining kids of value.

You must have missed those memos and interviews.  Unfortunate, eh?

I think KU offers as early as anyone else, but those that receive them are holding out for someone, anyone to give them an offer so they can go elsewhere. JMO (but 100% fact too)

yeah I've just been sitting back watching this thread lately but couldn't sit back anymore when a (almost) ten years ago talking point is brought up. Just plain lunacy, crap has drastically changed in the last two years let alone ten
