1) can't afford it
2) sets a really terrible president when you fire your last 2 coaches in 2 years, you're not going to get quality applicants to give you the time of day (when it would already be tough for them to get any quality applicants in the first place, they rough ridin' hired charlie weis as a "homerun" for fucks sake).

The two year thing is easy to dispel. I mean, you don't have to turn it around in two years, but show a hint of progress. Turner couldn't show that and if Chuck goes winless here on this year, he can show progress either.

You know KU fans who actually care about football? Every one of them I know is in complete denial, basically ignore football season, and beat off to videos of Chalmers' game winner while pretending bball season year round.

I got a bunch of emails from the business school about the game last week. Apparently they were giving away a bunch of free tickets to all the students who graduated with honors last year. I'm guessing not many took those tickets.
