We have a tailgate culture at KU.  Only difference between KU and Alabama is at Alabama, fans leave the tailgate to go watch the game at kick-off and don't return until the game is over.

Were you guys aware of how awesome KU's tailgate culture is?  On par with Alabama, and most certainly better than KSU I'm guessing.

It sounds like a terrible excuse for low attendance. As though these amazing tailgates are keeping tens of thousands of people just outside the stadium.

I hear it's a cross between the Grove at Ole Miss and Alabama, just so awesome that in lean years (so, basically every year) thousands just opt to stay outside the stadium and soak in the que, the craft beers, the bourbon and all those sorority girls in their little black game day dresses and cowboy boots.

i love tailgating at ku and alabama.  i usually just flip a coin each week, heads it's lawrence, tails it's tuscaloosa.  and off i go to tailgate my ass off.

my tailgate motto?  if you've never chugged brews from a hammer throw/discus cage, you really haven't tailgated.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

i believe rick daris once lived in lawrence so if there's anyone here who could recreate gameday in lawrence in manhattan, it would be rd.

In short, this is a tough, tough place to recruit. KU has an identity as a basketball school that has been hard for recruits to shake, has no football tradition in comparison to its Big 12 competition, and has one of the worst home stadiums in the Power 5. There are multiple battles to fight on the road to recruiting relevance here.

There really should be a playoff with the 4 worst teams. Lose and move on. Win and you don't have to play another game.

Also, most of the other teams got funny nicknames, but KU did not.

????

Why on Earth would that make them upset?  He's had a great career?

I fully assume that I'll see Bill Self in the HOF someday, as well as Roy Williams, and that doesn't bother me at all.  They did a good job of hiring those guys.

Well, then that makes sense.

I enjoy spending a few hours on a Saturday sitting on an ancient concrete bench and staring at a hill.

Afterwards, I enjoy taking a leak in a dark room with bad plumbing.

Do the toilets still overflow at New Futility U. Stadium located in Fly-Over-Country USA?
