Can you believe these losers down the road think that building a new stadium will bring them wins? Um, hello? Have you seen that shithole? Also, the talent on that roster matches that of a large high school. They are oblivious if they think that A) they have a chance of winning a single game this year, and B) they think that anyone is going to put $100M into a new stadium for a team that's won less than 5 games in the past 5 years.
You just wait.  As soon as they start consistently winning big, the money is going to start rolling in, and they'll have a new stadium in no time.

I thought it had been reported as true that the money had basically been raised and they were just waiting for us to finish up.

We have one of the best settings in all of CFB, as well as a top tier FB Complex next door. Why da fuq would We move the stadium?

Not only that, but the reason they're waiting is so they can see our finished product which will make it easier for them to top what we did.

There is a reason that KU has one of the top ten most beautiful campuses and keeping Memorial in the center of that helps especially if they renovate the stadium up to par and really show that we care about football.  There is a little space to add parking whether it be a garage or more flat parking for tailgating.  Nothing beats walking down the street past a couple house parties/tailgates and getting invited over for a beer until the game starts.

I mean ..........my god

This is not even remotely true. I'm close to the situation and they're scraping the bottom of the barrel for football donations right now. Basketball on the other hand, now they're swimming in money. You'd be surprised at how many of their donors specifically state that their money is to be for basketball only. People have raised hell because the other athletic teams use the bball facilities that were built with bball dollars. It's the biggest political dumpster fire over there that i've ever seen.

Had a KU fan tell me the other day that if KU were to play Olathe North that they would probably lose and by double digits. Said all he is wants is for basketball season to start already. They are really down on themselves guys.

I haven't talked to a single KU fan that thinks they are going to win on Saturday. It's like they believe Charlie Weis is still their coach. :frown:

I heard KU has over 300 mill earmarked for football expansion ready to go tomorrow, but they want Beaty to win a couple games first so they don't send the wrong message for rewarding bad performance.  Source A-

as of last spring, things didn't look too good on the fundraising front.  but, it's KU after all - so, it's likely they just shook out 300mil from the couch cushions in the offseason.

http://www2.ljworld.com/news/2014/may/01/ku-has-designs-memorial-stadium-facelift/

Kansas University’s athletic department has hired HNTB, a Kansas City-based architecture firm, to draw up blueprints for Memorial Stadium’s future renovations, but there are no plans to break ground any time soon, according to KU athletic director Sheahon Zenger.

“We will have the designs in place,” Zenger said during a recent interview with the Journal-World, “so that when we have momentum and the deck is cleared, we’ll be ready to go.”

According to Zenger, HNTB is in the final stages of developing its renderings, and those plans currently are being vetted through the appropriate groups on campus, by members of the athletic department and outside stakeholders.

What’s the holdup?

“It’s not lost on me and shouldn’t be lost on anyone else that we need a little momentum in football to inspire the donors whose help we’re going to need,” Zenger said
.

I'm hearing stories that KU has 5 or 6 donors that have enough money to pay for this whole damned stadium. They are just waiting on a sniff of success to turn their couches over and get the money. So it's essentially already been raised. They just don't want to give it to KU unless they can beat Rutgers and get a Big 10 invite.

I've heard the same, basically five or six people ready to push "Enter" and EFT the money from overseas and brokerage accounts they had almost forgot about.   I hear the campaign will last no less then five minutes, they're just waiting on a moonbeam of hope and once that comes, game over.

Shellshock, you're hilarious, quite gE'ing you rascal.
