Is playing on BTN the highlight of KU's season? I think it might be.

If KU loses to Rutgers, that will be a much worse loss than South Dakota State at this point.

I can't imagine anything good from Rutgers taking that circus on the road at this point.  That whole thing is a raging tire fire.

Being the State University of New Jersey, tire fires and controversy doesn't surprise me.

they want to go Big10 to "maximize their potential"............why don't they try that in the conference they are presently in ?     :dunno:

It's because all the major KU donors won't get off their butts to shake out the couch cushions until they see KU in the Big 10. ...because for whatever reason, KU football supporters are obsessed with the Big 10, apparently.

After that invite comes, you will see all the massive support that was just waiting in the wings. Donors will line up, and students will learn the name of their head coach. It's all just a matter of timing.

scenario:  ku goes on the road and beats rutgers.  ku then sells so many commemorative t-shirts and dvds celebrating the win that they build up a $400 million dollar stadium expansion warchest which they draw upon to build the best college football stadium in the entire united states.

whoa that would be a great thing

if they go on the road and win this game, do they return to Lawrence with a big 10 invite in-hand?

If they win against this Big 10 team, they'll have confirmation that the Big XII is holding them back.  Due to the fact they can't beat a Big XII team.

I will hit you up one better.

They sell the DVDs and t-shirts all over America but the SEC steps in and MATCHES that revenue, they build a stadium better than Jerry Dome in FTW and they go big time AF

Damn it!  I was going to project that Big 10 would build KU a new stadium if they beat Rutgers.   FWIW, I watched the '06 bowl game with a KU friend, and he decked himself out in Scarlet Knight gear ( ! ).  Would he be suspicious if I asked to borrow that stuff now?

by SEC, i assume you're referring to the securities and exchange commission?  their matching gift is a "thank you" for having such a large number of dollars from their endowment invested in the markets that the SEC monitors?

or were you talking about the sec conference?  honestly, both scenarios are equally plausible.

bottom line is that this win @ rutgers could shape the future of the hawk gridiron program for decades.

Can you believe these losers down the road think that building a new stadium will bring them wins? Um, hello? Have you seen that shithole? Also, the talent on that roster matches that of a large high school. They are oblivious if they think that A) they have a chance of winning a single game this year, and B) they think that anyone is going to put $100M into a new stadium for a team that's won less than 5 games in the past 5 years.

First world problems, but them having one of the top settings (best?) in the country makes it difficult to change the stadium.

You just wait.  As soon as they start consistently winning big, the money is going to start rolling in, and they'll have a new stadium in no time.

So, what is your timeline on that? I don't foresee the University of Lawrence being able to "consistently win big" for a very, very, very long time.

Honest question, since I don't care to go over there that often anymore, what do they think of Arrowhead? What did they think of playing at Arrowhead like they did against Mizzou?

Love the ghetto neighborhood.  Great setting (as long as you aren't actually there).

Honest question:  have they torn out the discus/shot put/hammer throw pads next to the stadium since they rented the world class track facility from the City of Overbrook?
