I have to interrupt the discussion today to offer the following:
I have to step up and apologize to this board, the 'Hawk fan base, and Bob Davis today. For years I've dogged what I believed were his lousy announcing skills. It was not until today, when driving across town, that I realized wrong I was. KU had a penalty called upon them in the first quarter, and Dr. Davis was utterly confused about the call (defensive holding). He noted he did not see it live, nor on the replay. His color guy and the sideline reporter both discussed seeing at length, to which Bob responded he just couldn't see anything.
At this point, I realized that Dr. Bob Davis is blind. I have to commend him for his hard work to hide his disability and be a professional sports announcer. Yes, he may have had vision long ago, but it is readily apparent that his vision has been fading for years, and finally, it is now gone.
Well done Mr. Davis, you are an inspiration!
Now, back to board analysis and prognostication.
