The ISU game was a weather anomaly.  I think we could have had a good shot to win that game under normal conditions.  The field of ice we played on gave the WR a distinct advantage in the game.  The secondary has to react to the WR, which was near impossible on the ice.  It was also tough to put a good rush on a QB on the ice.  Thus you had WRs getting open and a QB who had extra time to sit back and pick apart the secondary.  Our strength was our running game, but we couldn't run on that field in those conditions.  Our complete lack of a passing game hurt us more in this game than any other.  ISU had a QB and receivers to take advantage of these conditions.  We didn't.  Once we realized we couldn't run the ball, we went to Heaps and to his credit he threw pass after pass on the money, but our WRs had stone hands.  I remember one point in the second half where our WRs dropped 5 passes in a row.

In normal conditions we could have slowed down the pace and ran the ball and ISU wouldn't have been able to throw the ball all over the field the way they did.

Everybody knows that the passing game is built for cold, windy, icy conditions.

Whenever I want to go to an airport and simultaneously a steak house, I go to Hutch.

And how about that little cafe with all the mustards? I guess that's technically in Buhler or whatever, but it's all Hutch Metro.

A good KU friend of mine agreed that ISU would have been 10 points better than KU on a normal playing surface.  :Woot:

I understand so much more about yarddog now that I know he's from Hutch.

I also don't feel so alone - not the only person from Hutchinfun on the board - woooot

You already were not the only person from Hutch on the board.

Didn't actively search for it - dumbass

Both ku and ISU were playing on the same field last year, right??

So the conditions were the primary cause for a 34 point spread against a team that finished the season 3-9?

I watched the game, and the ku players looked like (not that I blame them) they just wanted the game to end as quickly as possible.

I think ISU players said same thing, KU wanted out and to go home.

That game was hilarious! Very embarrassing for KU, however.

Both sides push each other's buttons.  It's an in-state rivalry.  If I saw any of you in person, I'd shake your hand and buy you a beer.  Don't take (and make) this stuff so damn personal.

beems is just a conformist lemming who regurgitates every stupid talking point that phog.net tosses out there.  He's a knee jerk apologist for every single issue that arises at ku.  On top of that, the guy has no humor, no writing skills, no personality, no charisma.  He just makes a bunch of shitty posts that lead to more shitty posts, and the entire board suffers because of it.  He's like a disease that doesn't quite kill you, but makes you almost wish you were dead.  I've tried putting him on ignore, but it's impossible to do given the frequency of his posts and the amount of disruption that they generate.  It's time to either ban him or poster intimidate him to the point that he kills himself.

lol, I thought that post by Beems was top notch considering who/what he really is. I give him credit though, I think he knew he was describing himself waiting for a reaction.

Amazing just how interchangeable it is, really.

I re-posted it simply as further proof/documentation of the claim that many have made that beems & tmcats are really one in the same, although just wearing different colors on gameday.  Carry on.

In what season have we ever felt if our starting QB went down we'd be ok?  One where our QB was decent, not serviceable where you were deciding between two evils.
