Don't forget deadly underground gas explosions

I think that happened only once, IRC. Isn't everyone entitled to one mistake?

There were two explosions on consecutive days.

Quote
On January 17, 2001, natural gas stored underground in Hutchinson, Kansas leaked into empty brine caverns. Two explosions resulted from the leak. One destroyed two businesses and damaged 26 others. Another destroyed a trailer park killing two people. Sinkholes and gas leaks formed all around the city and the gas had to be slowly burned off.

You could see the flames for miles.  We danced around them like wild engines.

We prefer to be called Internal Combustion Americans.

I do often wonder what the population of Lawrence would be if Topeka didn't completely suck.

While tragic, the city was quick to cap every leak and burn off all the gas in the old brine caverns.  The two unfortunate souls were grandparents of a teammate of mine.  We all supported him through it because Hutch people ARE AWESOME LIKE THAT. *cough* sorry, I'm having yelling fits today.

KU really needs to plan for a 60,000+ stadium to keep up as a BCS/College Playoff program.

I don't get the comparison? Sioux City is twice the size of Hutchinson and after browsing their Wiki page they have nothing in common and it is quite obvious that Hutchinson is cooler.

Almost doesn't count.. except very odd school districting.  I grew up in the Buhler District

For those unaware of the layout of Hutchinson, the Buhler District contains the vast majority of the "rich" population. Hence why it was so important for me to appear like a Baller although I am on a budget.

Hey, our lil bros are better than 16 teams guys!  :excited:

http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/2014/05/10/kansas-jayhawks-charlie-weis-2014-countdown-preview-roster-schedule-football-four/8915245/

"Teams with good leadership, solid coaching and a core identity don't just win once but twice, with each successive win building on the last until winning is part of the program's DNA: Winning begets winning until winning isn't merely a byproduct of leadership, coaching and identity but a weekly expectation.

Kansas has none of these things; Kansas is not one of these teams. The Jayhawks won three games in 2013, in itself cause for slight celebration: South Dakota State in the opener, Louisiana Tech in September and West Virginia – yes, a conference win – in November. How KU followed up each win speaks volumes about the program's flimsiness."

"More of the same, sighs an exhausted and exasperated fan base. Predictability is welcome only when the results are favorable: Kansas has become neither better nor worse but merely there, like a gnarled tree stump, and like most ingrained impediments seems impossible to extricate from its current position."
