Remember when beems said he was done with this thread?

Remember when K-State fans didn't obsess over KU 24/7?  Oh wait... nevermind.

think about it though...i only go to about one chiefs game every other year but even i would consider sticking around for a ku game if they played it an hour or so after the conclusion of the chiefs game.  :dunno:

honest option for ku-scrap home games in lawrence and play all of their games at arrowhead. all of their fans live in kc anyway so it would make it easier for them drive wise. this is nothing new though and has been talked about before. now this is where this new plan gets interesting.........piggyback on to all the chiefs games. like play chiefs/hawks doubleheaders. chiefs at noon. hawks at 5:00. maybe offer discounted seats to chiefs season ticket holders. idk, just spitballing but even the most hardened ku fan would have to say this has merit.
people are going to tell you that the university of kansas shouldn't play it's home games in missourah but those people don't appreciate the awfulness of the current stadium situ.
Comedy/English is hard.
not being funny. it's really, really bad over in lawrence, nobody on the phog denies it except you. and i'm sorry about the extra apostrophe. forgive me?

I haven't denied anything regarding KU football.  In fact I've been pretty critical of Weis and the current status of the program.
I think you're pretty fair in your observation of your program, but you're pretty biased when it comes to facilities. I mean, you continually make reference to comparing BSFS to Memorial prior to WSC. We will finish Vanier prior to any project KU starts.....that's in the ball park of $140M of difference.

If I overlook the track at KU, then yes I would agree that BSFS and Memorial were comparable a few years ago.

If everyone had a similar situation it would really boost attendance.

Better idea:  sell booze at Memorial.

K-State's stadium is much nicer than KU's.  My only point is that the things money can't buy are better at KU.  If and when KU does upgrade its stadium, we will have a lot more to work with.

I'm not sure I agree. The one view from inside the stadium that KU fans post pics of all the time are fantastic. However, something I didn't know until I went to the game last season, is that you really don't get that view except from a very small section of the stadium. Secondly, the view of the hill is pretty much null with your jumbotron.

Otherwise, I don't see what is inherently advantageous about memorial.

I do think that Memorial could be very nice if the money is there. Simply putting a facade around the entire exterior would make a world of difference. That said, I really don't think there are a lot of options to make the fan amenities better than they are.

it's too bad their 60yd indoor field isn't inside of a 200m track.

Making up numbers out of thin air again, I see.

I really love the pic of Anschutz from KU's own site.  We definitely see the priorities at work there.

I wonder if they have to roll out the football turf when the practice there?

I remember in my HS we had to roll out the rasslin' mats.  Of course, we were better at rasslin'.

I'm beginning to think KU shouldn't do a remodel, but instead start over.  I don't think that is an option for them.  They may be at a point of no return when it comes to football.

The Cycle:
Horrible facilities and basketball first school --> cannot get a quality coach
no quality coach -->  horrible football program, worst in conference, etc.
horrible football program --> below average attendance, revenue, and trouble raising funds
Bad attendance, revenue, etc. -->  horrible facilities, fan/player experience, etc.

All four of those categories in the circle have become so bad that they are going to have troubles getting back up to the level of Iowa St.

I think KU should just build at a different location. That way their students can play ultimate frisbee, touch football, or soccer in the old stadium with a fantastic view of campus and the hill, and they can have a new state-of-the-art facility with a great tailgating scene, too.

Here's how goEMAW operates:

1.  Claim KU doesn't have something

2.  When you're proven wrong, claim that whatever it is sucks

3.  Rinse and repeat

It can't get any worse than K-State was before Snyder showed up.  Plus there's the fact that KU just went 12-1 and won an Orange Bowl not too long ago.

Beems, any more info on the facility? Seriously can't find anything on it.

Googled it and couldn't find anything so I slipped into incognito mode (so it would show less K-State stuff from cookies- even though Bill loves 'em) and still nothing.

I mean seriously, I hope your recruits don't google phrases like "KU football practice facility". Here is what showed up:

1) Images- mosty of other schools, but a few (like two) of KU's facility.
2) Indoor Practice Facility..... Kansas State
3) Indoor Practice Facility..... KU :excited: oh wait, its for golf?
4) Ranking the Big 12 facilities by Ubben. Guess who came in last? Starts with a J and ends with ayhawk.
5) LHC Bill Snyder Family Stadium
6) Facilities..... Kansas State Athletics
7) A company website that has indoor practice facilities listed it built. Scrolled and FINALLY found KU- thought its not even your website...
8)The University of Kansas Hospital Training Complex...did it seriously take this long?!?! Oh wait, no that is for the Cheifs
9) Pitt State's new athletic center.
10) KU's wikipedia page

P.S. your practice facility has a track around it. I can't even make this stuff up.

Found the image on the company's website: http://www.heavystructures.com/gallery/gallery/view/12

How bout Sporting Park?  It's in Kansas and it seats 18500 so PLENTY of room.

Changed "Kansas" to "KU" to be more specific but it didn't help. :dunno:
