All the best college football stadiums in the country are pieced together from their original form. In college football terms, if they wanted to do something to stay out of the generic stadium category, they should've figured out a way to build some monstrosity of a north end zone complex around the original bones of Memorial stadium. And obviously do the west and east in phases.
No new stades come close to being good college stadiums and the lights feel more gimmicky than unique. Especially when they'll probably have to have the same conversation explaining what they represent 100,000 times (and also why the east side never has them).
