True story, when I was a little kid watching Cubs games and the first time they played the Giants I thought their stadium was up in the mountains or something because everybody in the stadium was wearing coats in the middle of summer.

Cousin's summer wedding there.  Board plane in KC about 11 in the morning when its already 85-90 out.  Deplane in SF around 1PM local and its barely in the 60's there at the airport - on the bay.  Airline staff just loved welcoming all the midwest rubes dressed in shorts and t-shirts trying to get warm.

Along the bay and ocean side: cold, damp, and breezy.  Overnight temps upper 50's.  The water is cold, and the wind is stronger on the waterfront which makes it seem even colder.

Damn

What do we think of OU’s stade design as a whole?

It’s kinda all over the place for me, and I’m all over the place with it. Their newest end zone reno from five years ago or w/e looks like a minor league baseball stade. The side across from the press box looks like they ripped of BSFS’s East side. The press box side I think I like, especially in conjunction with the other non-minor league end zone? I dunno. I can’t decide. I can say with certainty though, that it is THE premiere stade in the CFB world for students to suicide bomb themselves outside of during qatz games where we send a punt snap through an empty end zone.

Off topic but last month I had a conversation about Jeff Mortimer's mother about this game. He was the long snapper. There were a lot of weird things about this game that gets lost in time because of the safety and the bombing.

Thomas Clayton missed that game because it was the first game after he pushed that parking services kid and tried to drive off with the boot on his car.

OU had a losing record, they were 1-2 going into that game.

Adrian Peterson got hurt in the second quarter yet we still got housed by Rhett Bomar and whomever Peterson's backup was.

I got stuck behind at train crossing in rural Oklahoma County for 45 minutes avoiding the traffic jam caused by the FBI, so I had to piss on the road. Then my wife and I got food poisoning at a steak and shake in Edmond.

Some decent background shots of old Rice-Eccles in this video from 1994. Could've used more gratuitous coming-back-from-commercial mountain shots which also include the two cool and very different end zones.

One good thing about the game, even though it could've used more stade shots, is that we get to see a wild 90's crowd packed in there, throwing snowballs and tearing down the goalposts to celebrate the W.

Man, is there anything better than 1000's of happy students rushing onto the field just going nuts with how happy they are? Watching students rush the field is my favorite thing about college FB and I hope it never ends.

Two great and very different posts in a row. MIR and Ben Ji getting me into the CfB mindset on this Caturday morn. Thank you.

Just the uniforms and helmets in that picture make me happy. It’s funny that how football looked when you were 10 is how you’ll think football looks “right” for the rest of your life.

I wasn’t that impressed with it.  My buddy has a daughter at OU and they were trying to get him to buy season tickets so they took us on a mini tour.  Lots of bar areas was nice but you couldn’t see the field from most of the places selling alcohol.  The seats and other tables throughout seemed low quality and the different sections of the stadium were disjointed with no flow between the separate areas.

I might stop calling it "the setting" and go with "the surrounding" moving forward.

Dearmon to USA got me looking at their stade, and I'm not laughing but how in the world has KU not came up with some sort of plan through the years to at least rebuild something decent. (I know, I know, soooooo poor)

Only $78 mill for this beaut.

I plan on stopping and getting some shots of that place next time I through Mobile.

I tried to get some shots of Troy two summers ago, but they were doing construction on all the entrances and I couldn't get any decent angles . . . and it was hot AF.

Shitty for Hawaii because I have no idea where they will play, but as the article said that stadium has been shitty for the entirety of its existence.

lmao, took the words right out of my mouth
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.
