I've been in wichita for 8 years and have no concept of where joyland is/was or even where a decent-sized amusement park ever could've been (excluding park city-ish off-interstate vacant lots). Longtime wichitans sure have a thing for it tho.

Wichita is such a piece of crap.. Minus a few coffee shops, art joints, and a couple drinking holes this place is nothing but soiled trash.. I wish I woulda grew up in the KC area.
I know we got into this in the things that don't suck in wichita thread, but I'd been led to believe Home Depot replaced Fantasea. This makes it sound like they co-existed. So did Home Depot eventually expand into where Fantasea was or is the North Y sitting on the Fantasea burial ground?http://www.bizjournals.com/wichita/stories/1998/09/21/story6.html?page=allAnd where was/is joyland?
Michael Wilson reviewed a year agoOverall Very goodNobody knows what happened to the creepy piano playing clown that used to reside here.

And where was/is joyland?
It was originally located at 1515 East Central in Wichita (between New York and Mathewson streets) but soon moved to its current location at 2801 South Hillside.

You could always grab a quick bite to eat at Willie C's before heading out to see the Wings play. The the next day you could take the whole fam over to Fantasea.
