I worked at AECOM for 9 years (5 in KC), and while they do have a pretty big office in KC and a good architecture group(formerly Ellerbe Beckett), I don't think anyone there does airport design.  At least when I was there, they did mostly stadiums and hospitals.  So the "local" presence there didn't mean a whole lot since most of the design work would've been farmed out to LA and a few other offices.  Now, generally they will "relocate" a team of people working on a major project, so there would be a handful living and working in KC while the project was going on.  Kindof how I was "relocated" to Michigan for a couple years.  If you count living in a hotel relocated.

Have never even heard of the firm that had their proposal selected.

Hyatt

with the new whole foods going in at 51st and main street, the new amazon HQ2 seems like a perfect fit for kc

I am glad that KCMO didn't pick the shady B&M proposal.

Time for JOCO to fire up their own airport campaign and bring it to the KS side.

Can anyone tell me why getting around the 2nd largest city in the US is so painful (Obviously) When it comes to traffic, but you can hop through LAX Southwest Security in 2 seconds every time? The math just doesn't add up to me.

I thought SWA backed the B&M design?
They changed their tune Sunday or Monday

Will a new airport be enough to lure Amazon's headquarters2?

I hope so  :excited:
Seems like a perfect fit for the removal of the north loop. They are going to get every incentive in the book thrown at them.

KC should absolutely sell their soul to amazon if that's what they ask for. Give them every incentive they could ever ask for to come here. Could be a game changer for the city/region

Amazon is going to buy Sprint (telecom market) and Cerner (electronic health record market) so HQ2 should definitely be in kansas city

Brownback might actually pay Amazon to put that thing over by the race track.

Seriously?  I stopped watching the news, and don't read anything local.  I had no idea.

Amazon should buy it on the courthouse steps, take the frequencies, and strap wifi on drones.
