Resoundingly saying no would be a vote that said no to me but whatever you need to fit your rants....how other it.

I honestly don't see why this needs a vote at all. The city wouldn't even issue bonds. Do we vote Everytime someone wants to build an office building?

Evenso...let the people vote on it given it is the airport.

resoundingly saying no is resoundingly saying no.  which is what your boy understood when he took his ball and went home (after researching if TDD's applied to airport votes and finding out that they didn't).

regardless, it's sad to see you back this B&D plan considering how much more it's going to cost the city.  sad.

what could go wrong when not competitive bidding a billion dollar project?

In this scenario the city doesn't originate the bonds or have any piece of the financing....what exactly do you want bid?  Maybe slow down and see what the deal is before you go crazy.

no crap, at the very least a portion of the work should be bid out or some other cost control measures need to be put in place.  you realize we're the one's paying this back, right?

Bmd would handle the competitive bidding part themselves. Only the design phase would be not bid, but I think that's very fair given they are financing the thing. Bmd is still a business, and they will have outside investors to answer to as well.

The best part of this is 'clams has repeatedly held that businesses don't want a new airport, but here is a local company that wants one bad enough to spend a billion of their own money

I could see the speed to finance and build will negate private financing premium. The tradition route would have use building this in 2023 money...this option can be done years faster.

But let's not get too deep into financing before clams educates us all on how it will all work.

taxes are not, and have never been, a part of the airport financing.

the resistance to the new airport is based on people assuming airfares will go up.

Every trip to Mar-A-Lago is paid for with tax payer money from a Republican president.

yep, here's a local company who will make hundreds of millions of dollars from the project, supporting it.  it's so insane!  sad.
