Slide the City will transform a Kansas City hill into a water slide this summer.

On Tuesday, we reported that the Utah company that runs the event centered around a pair of 1,000-foot-long waterslides wouldn't be in the area but that three other cities in the region would host the event.

SLIDE THE CITY

Sack Lunch Productions, which owns the Slide the City event, announced Wednesday that it would come to town on Aug. 6. The slide will be set up at Crown Center near the intersection of Pershing Road and 25th Street.

Slide the City is billed as a "slip-and-slide water party event" featuring music and food.

Prices will range from $10 for a single slide to $99 for a pass that allows unlimited slides throughout the day. Prices will increase as the events draw closer.

The other locations that also will transform their streets into slides this summer are:

St. Louis (July 9-10)
Springfield (July 16)
Wichita (Aug. 20)

They did that slide thingy in Wichita last year and set it up on a somewhat flat street   

There were some issues with the slide. The terrain in Wichita is mostly flat, which did not help sliders move fast.

Many of the participants were pushed at some point along the slide by volunteer staff.
