Also, name a restaurant downtown that you rough ridin' crave. Answer: you can't It's filled with garbage chain restaurants. The closest thing that I crave from my place is grinders and Margaritas. I have to get in my car for that.  :frown:

I took uberpool once in miami and got the impression the driver comes out ahead, even accounting for a few glitches where they'd have to give a solo rider a discounted pool rate ride.  I only took it because it was bar closing time and I thought odds were it would lead to seeing some funny stuff.  It didn't.

The feeling bad for getting a solo uberpool ride is dumb, do you think the uber driver feels bad for you when you are paying surge pricing?

Good grief, Phil. Do you spend a $100 a tab every time you go out?

My point is, assuming you order an uber pool, knowing full well what uber pool is, and are hoping that your driver gets a call to go off your route to pick somebody up, then...I just don't get it.

If you feel sympathetic for uber pool drivers, then feel free to tip them or take an uber x or whatever you want to do.  But the pool service is provided and each time I get in the car, I hope we don't have to pick anyone up.  The vast majority of the time, we end up picking up 2 or 3 other people and drop people off and sometimes have to pick others up after that.  I get that and i'm not pissed or anything when that happens because that's kind of the gamble of taking pool.  if you don't want to take the gamble, then you pay roughly triple what you would in the pool.  But when it doesn't happen, I have a hearty internal fist pump.

If that makes me a dick then I guess I'm a dick.

The fact that you don't consider the driver says a lot.

Unless I'm mistaken, the driver doesn't have to sign up to do pools.  And goodness, get off your high horse, of course I acknowledge that if we don't get other pool riders, it sucks for the driver.

But Im not going to feel guilty because I happened to get a lucky draw.

Didn't get a picture but gates C 80-85 are a disaster at MCI this morning. No precheck and a huge line. Can't imagine why anyone would be against centralizing the security checkpoints if this is a regular occurrence.

Got some meat at The Local Pig in KC this weekend.  Their 14 day dry aged burger is probably the best I've ever had.
