planning on going to Top Golf Friday, should I bring my clubs or will I look like an idiot doing that?  And do I need a reservation if I want 2 or 3 bays next to one another?

yes, you will look like an idiot.  no, bringing your own clubs won't make you look like an idiot. Getting multiple adjacent bays will be tough.  It is essentially first come first serve, unless you buy a VIP pass for $50.  They do however promote the fact that they accommodate corporate outings and special events.  I don't know if your group is large enough/special enough to qualify, but it would be a worth a phone call to find out.  Otherwise, getting 3 bays next to each other would be practically impossible.  Even getting 2 next to each other could be a very long wait.

even if during the day and not at night?

Friday day shouldn't be too bad.  I assumed you meant Friday night.

Wait what?

long story, but they filed my paperwork wrong with the state, so we most likely can't open Saturday. still waiting on a temporary waiver from MO, but that's a stretch with this short of notice. (especially because it seems like very state worker is on vacation this week)

Get em KCFD. rough ridin' dorkstores

I will admit that I think any BBQ not from KC to complete crap now. It's infuriating how bad it tastes everywhere else.
i don't really even like bbq that much but I am super smug when people start talking about bbq places around here.

i should also add that I love my role here as bbq expert and since kc is basically a vacation destination I get to live the following convo often:
Nebraskan: omg jack stack was soo good, thanks for recommending it... I've never eaten so much meat in my life
Me: yeah, it's not bad  :gocho:

We had a company outing yesterday at TG 2:30 to 4:30, the parking lot was 95% full and the inside of the place was packed as well. FWIW everyone walking in with their backpack-mount bags and head covers and golf clothes looked like they were trying way too hard. I don't think bringing your clubs is necessary, but then again the provided clubs are worth way more than the crap I play with.

I keep hearing good things about Char Bar. Can anyone confirm?

Mediocre food and service, but the best patio in town.

I had the CBGB - basically brisket burger.  Tasted very good to me.  Everybody I've talked to also thought it was really good bbq.  and yes, patio is sweet.

I just think their service pisses me off. We've had 3 different types of experiences where they were kinda crap heads, but other than that, it is a fun place.

So their service reflects their caliber of food, now?

Char Bar is great. Great food, great patio, great time.

There's much better bbq around the area. I test it up to the competition.

just out of curiosity, what specifically makes other bbq 'much better?'  serious question.  I mean, I'm admittedly a food novice and don't have a super sophisticated palate, but really good bbq is really good bbq and it sure tasted like really good bbq to me.

If I'm in that area, I'm going to eat at Q39 and go crush some suds on char bars patio. It's ok guys, I've had different experiences there.
