SIAP, does anyone else have this map from Imus Geographics (The Essential Geography of the USA):

https://www.imusgeographics.com/usa-maps

It is a great geography reference. Lots of other interesting maps / geography art on his website.

The young lady I am dating found a 1961 World Atlas in a thrift shop and bought it for me.

Came in a fancy case (the dark blue part) too!

hold onto your ass because here is the scoop: small hill with a cross on it. it's near ashland kansas which is best known for getting the living crap kicked out of them by Meade in sports. also there is a tiny town (couple houses?) near there called Sitka that is like a ghost town now that used to have a restaurant when I was a kid that people would drive all the way from meade to go to I think because it was in a tiny town and it was in an old school or something. think it closed down when I was in HS or something.

Is the cross enormous?  Can you see it from Meade?

I did not realize there were two bluff creeks, like three counties apart! :surprised:

I swam/fished in the easternmost one, it almost always had water in it and during crazy times it would actually flood over bridges.

there was also a weird biker restaurant in Sun City I think (might still be)

I once posted this in the Book thread, but I love this dude's book's explanation/map of the cultural "nations" of America.  It's a great book (or book on audio) if you have the time.  He breaks down how they came to be, and what their characteristics are, with evidence.  The end of the book is not so good where he speculates about the future, but the majority of the book is fantastic.

I also love that he basically implies that we (the "Midlands") are the most sane of all of them.  :gocho:
