My guess is it was re-routed a little east when the dam was built.  Maybe that happened before though.

It also could of naturally shifted to the east sometime after 1909.

I think this just shows the lots and doesn't differentiate from Residential/business etc.

yeah I knew rivers moved way back when but wasn't sure if tuttle creek was the reason.

side note, that map also explains the weirdness of part of MHK being in Pott county that never made sense to me.

That also says the Kansas River moved south a little at the same time creating hunters Island. I dug a basement down there once and it was like 7 feet straight down of sand!
