i love the topo maps of kansas

https://www.reddit.com/r/Lawrence/comments/l3gtkh/ive_been_rendering_topographic_maps_of_states_and/

that's cool, one of the most infuriating things i've ever read was the turkeys that did a mathematical analysis to determine Kansas was actually flatter than a pancake. :curse:

my grandfather was born in schenectady, ny and went to union college and then albany law and then joined the army corp of engineers as an attorney for them and he basically spent his entire career going around and pissing off local townies about how they were going to damn up their river and back up the water and negotiating with old farmers who refused to leave and crap. he did that on the tuttle creek damn and stayed at the warhem hotel the whole time. then he later met my grandmother when he was based out of KC. so thank you army corp of engineer damns is basically what I'm saying.

he claims that the old townies would like take pot shots at them with their old timey farmer guns if they saw them driving down the road and crap so they drove unmarked cars and didn't tell anyone who they were when they were around MHK. probably made up but if you ever want to listen to someone talk for like 5+ hours about exaggerated and maybe made up adventures like that I've got a guy.

Probably not another state with a higher percentage of said lakes. Are there any natural lakes in Kansas at all?

Lake Inman is so small that I grew up 15 minutes from there, and this is the first time I've ever heard about it.

Good grief. What happened? I've never thought of dam-building in Kansas as being especially dangerous.

Is Cheyanne Bottoms considered a lake?
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

It is considered a "wetland complex."

I've seen Cheyanne's bottom and can confirm it is indeed a wetland complex.
