I didn't realize Indian Americans were the second largest immigrant group in the country after Mexican Americans.  I would have guessed Chinese Americans were the second largest group. It's also interesting that Indian Americans seem to spread out around the country(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_Americans) while Chinese Americans are mostly concentrated in California and New York, which probably influences my perception(I travel to NYC and CA way more often than I visit Chicago/DC/Dallas/Houston).

The Freedom Convoy coming down from Alberta in the American west is also interesting.

There are tons of Indian/Sikh truck drivers out on the west coast. When I was in the transportation industry we would have to give our customers a heads up that prices were going up/availability would be limited during this one week in June where it was basically the Sikh new year and all of them took the week off.

While we are talking about trucking we used to call all Eastern Europeans "Russians" and they are like 90% of the drivers based out of Chicago aka the Trucking hub of america. I'm sure some of them were actual russians but most of them were other slavic people like Poles/Croats/etc but they all got lumped together...Anyways Vlad never gave a eff about the rules and would YOLO 24 hrs straight to deliver a load even though it was designated as a "team load" meaning 2 drivers. He could just pocket the extra money minus the meth that kept him up. ELDs (Electronic Logging Devices, basically they track how long you drive) became mandatory in 2018ish and all of a sudden rates on team drive loads went through the roof.

I'm rambling but the point of the story is alot of immigrant communities work in the trucking industry because you can make decent money but the lifestyle sucks.

We moved into suburbs that are considered to have the "best schools." Plenty of East Asian Americans did for the same reason. But I would totally expect that the Indian Americans outnumber them. And I'd guess that little Indian grocery stores outnumber little East Asian grocery stores.
