I didn't see Asparagus, but it is great a lot of ways.  Why the eff is it so expensive though?

I've also started putting spinach in about everything I eat, and added Kale to my rotations.

Spinach is so awesome. I love to chop it up, dice it up, and throw it into stuff like salsa, eggs, beans, etc. I do this a lot with onions too, but that seems more normal. Red peppers man, they're more like a fruit! (because of the sweetness, don't throw this comment into the sys/chingon debate)

Both olives and mushrooms are on a veggie lover's pizza.  Argumentum ad populum quod erat demonstratum.

Another one of my favorite veggies is cilantro.  Maybe I'll make some for Clams the next time he has a dinner party.

when i was in europe i went to some weird asian-y food place and they served these things that looked a little bit like pea pods but they were salty and there were little beans in the pods and you put the pod in your mouth and suck on the "shell" thing and then suck the beans out and ditch the skin-shell-pod or whatever in a different bowl.

i forgot what it was called but it was definitely green and definitely a vegetable and i definitely liked it.

when asparagus goes on sale for like a 1.88 a lb I get pretty giddy.. but I have to remember to just cook enough for that meal because they are awful as leftovers.
Do you smell asparagus pee?

i didn't even realize that not everyone smells it until ms tobias had no clue wtf i was talking about the other day

What? Are you telling me that some people do not smell that distinct smell of asparagus pee? Did not know this.
Also, how the eff can you eat one piece of asparagus then go directly to the bathroom and your pee already smells???

My gf eats red onions plain sometimes. Like, I'll have a bowl of chopped red onions out while I'm cooking something, and she'll take a pinch and eat them by themselves.  :sdeek: :sdeek: :sdeek:

Is she Indian/Middle eastern?

Nope, Irish.

I have noticed in the last few years that I have started to like vegetables that I used to dislike. Like brussel sprouts, cabbage, and spinach.

thank you for the tips michigancat, although how does one deal with bean flatulence issues? Seems like it would be a potential tripwire in polite company.
