Great job on the tile selection! Question: why didn't you do all the cabinet demo and stuff before putting down new expensive flooring? One hard drop when you're taking that crap down and you'll crack a tile.

we're not taking the cabinets out, just going to have them painted and new hardware and then I'll probably do a new backsplash

we just had to get a new hvac system installed so it's on hold for a bit

my wife buys things at thrift stores and puts them on shelves

also tile wasn't that expensive, my sister is an interior architect and got it from her vendor for us for $1.69/sf. then I ripped out the old stuff myself and paid a guy $1000 to install the new stuff.
