Is this where we ask for fridge recommendations?

I have had this one for like 8 years now and like it. It makes hot water for tea or soup or whatever which is probably the only thing special about it. I cannot comment on any others because I have not owned them. I guess I owned some entry level whirlpool one in my first house which was fine.

I've never heard of this Cafe brand but they are keep popping up on my searches, thanks SD!

It's just a line of GE. They try to hide that it's GE actually or something. we also have a monogram range and dishwasher which is another of their lines.

Hell LG is now back on the list!  Samsung still out.  Heard bad things about their ice production.

That is the biggest problem with KitchenAids too.  Plus the ice maker is in the fridge and not in the door, which takes up more space.

Just to reinforce the Samsung is out idea, Samsung sucks. Have one where the ice maker went out a little under two years after we got it.  Got it replaced by Samsung because Costco has two-year manufacturer's warranty.  In September, at just under four years after we bought the fridge, the ice maker went out again.  Since we bought the fridge with the Costco Visa, we have a two-year extended warranty that starts after the manufacturer's warranty so it is covered.  The only issue is that nobody will come to work on the fridge.  Samsung told me there is no authorized service center within 100 miles that will come to look at the fridge.  We'll see what the warranty company says, but there is a decent chance they will just have to give us the purchase price of the fridge.

Still don't do LG if you're in Manhattan

I think I want dual ice makers, not sure about that 4th door thing above the fridge.  Want a smart version so I can monitor the temperature versus the janky smarthome sensor I have in my current fridge.

If you are monitoring your fridge temperature you need to get an effin life and that's coming from someone who has as little of a life as possible

I'm dealing with some class action settlement from buying an LG 5 years ago that already had to be replaced and nobody around Manhattan would do warranty work on.

Yeah I've kind of eliminated LG and Samsung.

I am a big fan of LG.  I am on my third house, all LGs, never had a problem with any.  I had a whirlpool before that where the compressor went out after 3 years, had to just buy a new one.  Before buying the latest LG I did a ton of research and LG consistently has the best reviews on any site that sells them (if you take reviews as a buying requirement).  And obviously every brand is going to have a few lemons.

This is my newest one: craft ice in the freezer!  https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-23-5-cu-ft-french-door-counter-depth-refrigerator-with-craft-ice-printproof-stainless-steel/6395328.p?skuId=6395328

Also, I was looking for the biggest counter depth french door with a dual ice maker.  LG fit the bill.  And, the rest of the kitchen is KitchenAid, which makes the worst fridges on the market.  Do not buy one of those.
how is the in-door ice dispenser? the ice dispenser on my 2018 LG French door sucks bad - it is constantly jammed with solid ice where the removeable hopper necks down to the dispenser. It is a major annoyance but it does fine with the other things a fridge should do

I have two electrolux under counter beverage centers. main floor in butler pantry/bar area and one in my basement bar. I like them a lot. so if their refrigerators are as good as the tiny ones I'd recommend them as well.

I have a mini-fridge that is like 20 years old and still works great. It was the cheapest one that the Manhattan Sears had on the first day I went to college at K-State. So if you are looking for longevity, maybe you could just stack 6 mini-fridges into 2 columns and go with that.

House is going to be turning 100 here soon. So tore out the carpets from previous owners and redoing original wood floors

Lol. When I was in Jr high I helped my parents remodel the basement. When I demo'd out the bedroom down there (a sweet room with a beach mural on one wall) I found a bunch of condoms hidden behind the door trim in the closet from the high school age previous occupant.

Then when we remodeled the upper floor I found a coke scale and other paraphernalia hidden behind the closet baseboard in a different bedroom.

Either one of those bottom 2 stains look good and the middle one is best IMO.  The top one looks like you're smearing a dirt/poop combo on to your floor.

#3 is oh so nice.

The carpet festival of the 70s and 80s was criminal. So much beautiful hardwood covered unnecessarily.

Totally agree with this. Both 2 and 3 are acceptable, but 2 looks a bit more contemporary to me.
