College athletics is a business.  Welcome to 2013.

You saw those shorts, right? More like welcome to 1991.

1991 was awesome.

Ku getting pushed around.

Kind of pathetic really.  Lew never would have let this happen.

And by the way, I've heard rumors that KU is going to go Nike next year once our adidas contract is done.

that's great news for you guys Beems. trust me. Nike is elite.

I live about four to five miles from Nike headquarters.  Believe me... I know.

I thought you lived in Corvallis? HQ is in Beaverton.

adidas doesn't have a uniform selection clause in KU's contract.  KU tells adidas what we wear.  Not the other way around.

So this was all KU's idea.  Confirmed.

Officials on Sunday announced an eight-year sponsorship and product-allowance agreement with adidas worth $26.67 million, which breaks out to about $3.33 million per year through 2013.

KU previously was tied to Nike, though the contract only covered football and basketball. That deal, worth $650,000 annually, expires June 30.

beems says $30, belvis says $25, beems tells him "nice try" and throws the actual figure of $26.67 in his face. makes sense?

I was just going off the top of my head... looked like Belvis got the actual numbers and then rounded down for KU.

The only reason big bro is an adidas school is because adidas wanted big bro's nuts really bad and decided to pay big bro $30+ million to wear their shitty uniforms.  lil bro's contract with Nike is laughable compared to big bro.

that, or lew couldn't strike a deal with nike way back when. even after cornering the rep and saying , "you don't understand, we're not done here."

Well next time I'll get the exact number instead of going off of the top of my head.  However, when I get K-State's numbers, I'll make sure to round them down.

KU should really use their eliteness with Nike as a bargaining chip next time.

I like how Beems is playing this off like he doesn't understand what the difference is between rounding up and rounding down in this situation.
