grats Pete. feel bad for ISU fans. doesn't really affect us as we won tonight and are still tied for first. fwiw.

LOL, it will end up affecting us and you all know it.

not nearly as much as the games we lost. it's never someone else's fault when you play a double round robin. no one to blame but ourselves if we don't win or tie for first.

When you end up one game back on a team that won a game like KU did tonight, I think you can probably blame the refs.

yeah. besides, i didn't say anything about "fault," i said this bullshit game is going to affect us. true story.

I agree with you there. I mean this will make it harder for us and in that way it does affect us.  But if we don't win the conference, it won't be because of the refs in a game we didn't play in.
It absolutely will be.

Fake Dan Beebe is riling up some ISU fans right now.  He's a pro at what he does.
Didn't read the rest of the thread since here, but Fake Dan Beebe is amazing. I wish he posted here.

but unless we lose the race by 2 games, it absolutely will be. that's the rub.

Did any KU fans on facebook go to KU? I can't find any.  I guess it's fine. They just love to RCJH.

You know what rough ridin' sucks? If we beat ISU on the road, we're not worried about this game. Even a little.  That loss hurts me so much now.

I think we're disappointed that we're not in sole possession of 1st, but we still control our destiny. I'm not sure why any EMAW would be butthurt right now.

They will not win. It will be close and there will be drama that non-kuers will be claiming fix.
Good call.....

No, they just didn't account for Withey being allowed to play 10 minutes of the game with 5 fouls.

you must not want a dr. pepper as bad as i do then. i am very butthurt about not having a 1 game lead with 3 to go because of the refs.

Honestly starting to wonder if NCAA basketball is fixed the same as soccer. That no call charge at the end of the game was simply terrible, and the subsequent call on Niang just added insult to injury.

All the blather from hawk fans about how the whole game was inconsistently officiated and every call or no-call is equally important is just that - blather. Only on the last play of the game do the officials know the impact of their call. And to not call that desperation drive to the basket a charge - that's just preferential treatment plain and simple. This is the second reason why I rough ridin' hate KU.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

I am kind of sad tody, because had there not been some questionable officiating and some poor coaching decisions last night, we'd be in the midst of an F5 phogtuck meltdown.

Nobody throws a meltdown like those guys.

Because we consistently crap the bed against them. Let's not deny it. Doesn't change the fact that are lucky SOBs who get preferential treatment from the officials.

It would've made my entire week. I would've failed my Human Factors test this afternoon because I would've spent all last night BBS'ing. They'll still be incredibly butthurt if we tie with them for the conference though! :excited:

I know you have all been waiting so patiently for my thoughts on this whole subject, so I will provide them for you.

The calls at the end of the game were ridiculous. I am 90% sure that was a charge on EJ and 75% sure there was no reach on Niang. I am also 100% that Withey fouled our, or should have, when they gave the foul to KY. Babb's 5th foul was also a joke.

Let's not pretend the whole game was not horribly officiated for both teams though, as has been the case for most NCAA games this year. At times it seemed like the refs called a foul because they felt there had not been a foul called for a while.

Looking at the game ISU had 3 less fouls than KU and some how managed to shoot 7 more FTs despite the fact they were jacking up threes all game.  Of course the blown calls at the end of the game are magnified, like all end game calls are in close games, but let's not act like the bad officiating throughout the game went only towards KU. That is simply not true.

Don't forget that down the stretch ISU had plenty of chances to put this game away and failed to do so, while KU made plays to even put themselves in a position to have a last second officiating gaffe matter. If a team sets a school record for 3s in a game you would expect it to be a blow out, but that was not the case in this game. ISU played horrid defense and allowed KU to hang around, if not for a historic shooting performance by ISU this game would not have been close at the end of the game to begin with.

Overall it was a crazy game to watch, I felt like I was on a roller coaster ride and was confident KU would lose when the game got to the 4 minute mark in the second half.
