I paid my civil fine for running a read light with 65 one dollar checks to the City of Des Moines sent via certified mail yesterday afternoon.  Today my wrist hurts from the writing of these 65 one dollar checks.

They're going to hold you in contempt.

#motorboatdesmoines

Hahahahaha!  Good thing it is a civil fine and not a citation...they're going to hold me in contempt of awesome.  I sent it certified mail so I can confirm that they received all 65 one dollar checks thus making my balance 0.00.  Not my finest hour, but eff those cameras and this 1984 crap.

Rounds to zero?

If my math is correct I think it comes out to about $0.65.

I've been out of college for a while now, but wouldn't that summation make the total of the check infinity? I mean, you would be adding an infinite amount of fractions that approach zero, but they are all positive, nonzero numbers.

That summation approaches 1, which cancels with the exponential. The remaining two tenths of a cent would be rounded to zero in a transaction.

Oh, that's right. Thanks, 8mp. I'm getting rusty.

Well, it needed to be said. We (as an editorial goEMAW collective) are better than this.

65 bucks seems pretty cheap for running a red light.

Yesterday at work I realized my jeans had worn a hole in the crotch. Today I wore a different pair and realized that pair had also worn a hole in the crotch.

Speaking of wearing jeans to work...I'm not supposed to but I do anyway.  The other day this little Chinese lady in finance was all "hey, why are you wearing jeans today?" and I was all "I just do what I want."  But I'm really to ashamed to admit the real reason.

You should also point out that you are racist. I mean, what does adding "little Chinese" bring to the story- save from the fact that I read her quote in my dry cleaner's voice?

That's how you were supposed to read the voice.  She has a very thick accent.

if you were wearing original levi's 501's you'd never have to worry about a hole in your crotch.  also you would look fantastic.
