Stop buying the cheap ass traps.  It's like you want them to crap everywhere in your house and eat your food.  They're going to make you sick is what's going to happen.

I bought a bunch more ones that are these, which an exterminator said are most effective:



I have probably 30 traps set now. I haven't seen or caught one in a few days, but I did have a couple of the old style victor traps licked clean with no snap. I spent the last 4 days plugging up every possible entry point to my house, but its almost 100 years old and there's really no way to keep them 100% out. I've set up outdoor bait stations all around my house to keep them out. I'll replenish the bait every month until I die. Exterminator said that's pretty effective. I'm pretty confident I'll have the problem fixed relatively soon. In talking to neighbors, I guess its a pretty big problem around the area this year. Guy in the house behind me had about 20 in his garage. Thanks for your concern Mr. B.

the latest nat. geo had a story on parasites and it talked about toxoplasmosis gondii. i think cf3 is going to regret not burning down his house with all of his belongings inside of it.

i have been going over to a friend's (posts on this blog) house and picking the PB off these mouse traps that he has been setting up every night since i released 6 of the biggest mice (rats?) i bought at the pet store.

Its not the trap.  get a candy that sticks to the trap.  Makes the mouse tug at it more.  Trap reacts to that.

It is the trap.  Victory makes better ones than those he has.  They cover up the bait.  So when the mouse fucks with it--BAM!  They can't steal the bait.  They have to lift up the bait lid and then they die. The lid is the trigger.  Those he has are crap.

No.  I looked for a pic, but I couldn't find one.  The ones I'm talking about are even better than that one.  They have the same general setup as the original ones except they have this hinged hood over the bait and when the mouse lifts up the hood the trap springs.  The hood only opens in the front, so the mouse has to get its head right in there.  They're ingenious.  The traps I mean. 

Also the bar itself has this modification where it has this what I like to call a killing wedge that is the part that strikes the mouse.  Very lethal.   

The one there looks like a mouse could still steal from it.  The ones I'm pushing are steal-proof.  Get you some.

I've got you all sorted now.  It's the Victor Quick-Kill Mouse Trap.  I looked on their website.  Oddly the pics they show are missing the death wedge, which is weird.  Get the ones with the death wedge.

Yeah, you would have mouse blood everywhere.  Pretty unsanitary.  They carry diseases.

I've told them not to touch the mouse traps (I've set like 50). At this point any injury is 100% on them.
