Not really sure what is going on in this thread.  At first thought JO was suspended, now not thinking that.  So confused, oh well

and i didn't appreciate you trying to dlew the thread and say that what we were doing was exactly the same thing as gpc but the opposite when we weren't. and no we're not splittling hairs. not even close.
i think we are splitting hairs.  you're right.  this isn't the inverse of the GPC response where they defend spradling and trash JO, but it's not that far off.  the reason people aren't rushing to JO's defense yet is because this just happened.  that's why originally asked the question:  "Conversely, is goEMAW going to bitch about JO's mom and how JO's a pussy because he can't handle whatever it is he's upset about?"

and let me preface this by saying that I loved Frank and I hated the oscar hire just so we're all clear.  Also, i agree that the GPC response to the Sprads/JO complaining is ridiculous and inconsistent.

i don't take issue with JO's mom complaining just like i don't really take issue with Spradling's parents complaining.  however, i could definitely understand how people could feel like sprads needed to shut up and play and how jo needs to do the same now.  But the players/parents don't determine how the AD responds.  Like some one alluded to earlier in this thread, parents probably complain about this crap all the time, and it's the AD's job to say "yeah, i understand.  don't worry we're looking out for your son and all of our student athletes, etc."  Currie used what is probably a common occurrence as leverage over a coach he hated. Don't we pretty much think that the "players are going to transfer" jazz was just a pretext for Currie hating Frank's guts anyways?  This is all on Currie.

I don't think it's fair or consistent to crap on Sprads for being a pussy when he complains about a coach (which Currie just so happened to use as one of his reasons for firing Frank) and not consider JO a pussy when he complains about a coach (which Currie doesn't respond to).

i'm glad we agree that it's different. from where i'm standing, sprads and co helped destroy kstate basketball as i know it and jo is a kind of uncoordinated big man that has problems playing with his back to the basket but is still going to go make six figures playing basketball overseas in a few months after he graduates from college. not splitting hairs for me. to each their own though dlew, to each their own.

ah yeah.  i guess the thing we disagree about the most is the level of sway the Sprads complaints had.  you seem to think that the Currie really took into account the complaints, where i really don't think Currie gave a crap about that.  i think it was all personal.  but hey, i could be totally wrong.

That grammar was awful.

You gotta save this stuff for when we're trying to clown visiting fans and visiting tucks, imo.

Sprads complained about a coach with his father, through the media on a regular basis.  JO's mom posted a paragraph online.  There is a big difference in that.  Also, I don't care about JO's fam being upset about his minutes which is what this is.

Yup, we're gonna need a name change. Not because I necessarily agree, but because that'd be hilarious.

Ok, kind of hard to follow her babel, but is she just mad 'cause JO's production is down, and his sucktatude is up? So maybe she is blaming Weber for JO's faults?

Should I just link the thread titled "JO" and have her check out my breakdown on page 6?

http://goEMAW.com/forum/index.php?topic=26283.125

Maybe Weber told her JO would be a major contributor this year, and then saw how bad he is or whatever, and now doesn't play him, so she is calling him a liar cause he isnt a major contributor?

Just a theory.

we are actually apparently disagreeing on intent and whether it matters or not and not "level of sway." like if pete told sd to kill my dog and sd said oh i was already planning on doing that and then he did it and i found out about their convo, i'm pretty sure that i'd be fairly unhappy with both of them. maybe i'm just weird that way though dlew.

I agree with dlew that consistency requires that if one thinks Will and dad should be called out, one should also think that JO and mom should be called out.  What happens after either of those pairs act is beyond their control.

Currie didn't use Shannon as a reason to fire Frank, but he used Shannon to build support for firing Frank after the fact. Source: the captain crap threads.

absurd. intent behind actions as well as consequences after actions should absolutely be taken into account when judging actions.

I don't think their actions are the same.  I don't even think they are all that similar.

Its entertaining for sure, but I don't really care for parent's going public (to reporters, social media, whatever) with their stuff that should be taken care of with the coach or AD. And Spradling's dad calling and feeding Kellis talking points is MUCH worse than this, but I still don't like either one.

i think this post gets to the crux of the issue.  kids are going to kid, parents are going to parent, and coaches are going to coach.  there's nothing anyone can do to change that.  and you really can't place blame on any of them for doing what they do, it's just inherent in playing their role .  however, how each of these roles are managed is the job of the AD.  a competent AD is one who wouldn't let spradling's or JO's parents issues get to the point where they find themselves feeding media outlets their version of the world, or airing dirty laundry on message boards.  i mean, it's going to happen to some extent but not to the degree we've seen here.

just an imo.

I don't know their intent beyond surmising that they're looking out for their kids.  Really skeptical that anyone here would know much more than that.
