My kid has a bat that you aren’t supposed to use when it’s less than 65 degrees outside so he has another bat for cold games/BP. Maybe we only have the warm bats?
Possibly.

In another forum we have people playing the Northern team card.

It’s been a mild winter, K-State has an all weather field.    Numerous warmer days. Back in the Fall season it was positively balmy in MHK.

I didn’t expect perfection.  But I would have liked to have seen one win and not the usual early season power outage and errors

Back on the weather.  Most of the South is not Arizona, South Texas or Florida.    So lots of SEC and similarly located schools deal with chilly-rainy days at the start of Spring practice.

could it be we have the wrong batting gloves?
my hypothesis is that we are not getting the necessary grip on the bat, thus no contact with ball.  thoughts?

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

Watched the Michigan and Auburn game, I wasn't really impressed with our pitching this weekend... Lots of live arms, not much control or great off speed. That transfer from Arizona has some sick movement on his fastball but is going to have a long season if he can't locate.

On a side note... the entire Michigan team is either a graduate or transfer... was insane.

I think you're right. No love for gloves. When push comes to shove, love gloves and rise above.

I need a ruling.  When is it too cold for outdoor BP?

My point being, K-State coaches of the past would have killed for all the 55 degree plus days in the preseason. But apparently (in some circles).  60 degrees is just too darn cold for live BP.
Can confirm they do live BP inside too

It's only three games, but not a great early sign for the prospects of Hughes making an NCAA tourney for the 4th time in his 23 seasons as a D1 head coach.

Meh, you don't get to call yourself Omahattan and not make the NCAA tourney.

Hughes got this team into the conference tourney last year and got screwed out of an NCAA bid, and I'm willing to bet we make it to the conference tourney again and have a chance at the NCAA's

Probably time to start looking at an extension.

3 game set against CSU Bakersfield starts tonight, all games on ESPN+. They're 1-2 after losing a series to Oakland (a northern school) last weekend.

Cats have a 5-4 Advantage in the All-Time Series. Probably need a sweep to get some excitement back, but 2-1 would be a productive weekend.

Maybe time to strip the word "Omahattan" (not sure if this is even a real word) from the new complex

Neighbors did not have it last night, zero control again. Now dude I'd getting absolutely blasted on social media for how he handed ball to coach. https://twitter.com/michael_schlact/status/1497522403207000066?t=ypOs6vpw83FKfGDLtmfmRQ&s=19

Considering how badly he just pooped his pants, that was not the time to be giving the coach attitude. I mean unless during the previous mound visit he was saying he didn’t have it and was begging to get pulled but they told him to man up and get through it, but I doubt that’s what happened.

Dang we still suck

Bad news: known loser Pete Hughes has confirmed he's still a loser after somehow being a D1 head coach for nearly a quarter of a century.

Good news: anyone on the fence about caring abou baseball this year can stop watching this team five games into the season.

There are a few decent arms on staff this season. The term “batcats” might be a bit of a misnomer as they are not using their bats (at least not for the purposes of getting hits and scoring runs)
